It's tough. You have to find someone that a team wants to dump, like Dedmon, but you'll always have to give up something. TEs are a mechanism for teams to get rid of salary, like the Warriors did with Iguodala, but there's a reason that most TEs go unused.

I have my eyes set on Dedmon, Dieng, Trevor Ariza, Satoransky, Cory Joseph, Dante Exum, Al-Farouq Aminu, Taj Gibson, Wayne Ellington, Ilyasova.

I like a lot of those names but I think Satoransky would be a great fit and could fill Livingston's roll quite nicely. Are the Bulls down on him at his current salary tho?

Sato looks like a good player to me. I doubt we're getting him for free. Would need to give up some kind of asset i think. Of the rest I guess Aminu fits our need, but i was so unimpressed with him in PDX. Really would not want him on our team, but then again he's probably better then what we would get with a minimum salary slot.

Aminu has been awful for quite some time now. Gross

Sato would be great but can't see why the bulls would

I was trying to figure out a trade that would work for the Heat and the Warriors and I was looking at all the possible trading chips and I couldn’t come up with a good trade for both teams. Both teams are hard capped so the numbers would have to be exact. Russell would be good on the Heat though.

But looking at the Warriors roster, wouldn’t it be better for you guys to keep Russell as a sixth man and just trade that 1st round pick in the off-season and get a wing player utilizing that trade exception and just shipping away one player? The Wolves would definitely take a top 5 pick for Covington and Diop.

You don't pay max money to a sixth man. You just don't.

We'll either package Dlo and the pick for something or simply keep the pick.

Winslow, James Johnson for D-Lo in the off-season. I think that would work for both teams

No, no it won’t.

Shift your thought process to the way the Warriors aggressive front office operates. Think DLo + Paschal + 1st for Jimmy Butler. Then they’ll answer the phone.

I don’t know why people think the Warriors brass will be looking to break down DLo into parts. They’ll look to make a bigger splash, not the other way around.

That’s way too much. We’re trying to win now so trading Butler is out of the question. Might as well ask for Bam in the process lol

there's two "clocks" at play:

The length of Dlo's contract, which gives us a couple years to deal him

vs

Steph/Klay/Dray's decline

The balance has to be maximizing Dlo's return, without waiting too long to bring in pieces that most help our core

If you aren't trying to max out our core, you might as well trade everyone and rebuild. We are on the market for titles, not playoff appearances

What, and we are rebuilding? We are in a bigger win now mode than what Miami even is. Come with an offer of a player better than DLo that fits our team, and we’ll add value to make it work.

Come correct.

Winslow and Johnson would fit great in that system

I don't think there's any trade to be made between GS and the Heat.

You had it more on point when you said warriors keep DLO as 6th man and keep the pick, even though you don't pay 6th man that kind of $. There are many threads on trade board discussing what the Front office has said. They aren't going to service your needs. They are going to improve the roster while keeping max slot players and not break it up into many lower tier players than what their objectives are.. Thanks for your input, but it really doesn't fall any where close to how this franchise works.

As much as I like Winslow in terms of fit and as a defender I believe he is currently dealing with back issues and had to go and see a specialist.

Butler would be even better.

Dlo/Paschall/1st for Jimmy Butler.

okay first of all...who's Diop? you mean Dieng not Bates-Doip right? and RoCo/Dieng for a top 5 pick is ludicrous lol.

and there are plenty of trades that work with Miami, you just don't want to actually give up anything for Dlo, let's be real.

Per Connor Letourneau (SF Chron):
Multiple teams have reached out to the Warriors in recent weeks to see what it would take to acquire Burks, league sources have confirmed with The Chronicle. But at this point, Golden State is still looking for better offers for him

same from Monte Poole (NBC Bay Area) :
Several teams in recent weeks have expressed interest in Burks, according to league sources, and some have gone so far to scout him. That’s not likely to change. There is demand for veteran, low-maintenance wings unbothered by circumstances and capable of creating offense for both themselves and teammates.

The Warriors, for obvious reasons, continue to be very much involved in trade buzz around the league. The general belief is they’ll make at least one move and maybe two before the noon deadline on Feb. 6.

The most obvious destination to me is Philly. Burks makes the minimum, he fits in anyone's salary structure thats willing to punt a roster spot. They have 2020 second rounders from ATL (probably top 3!), BKN/NYK, and 2021 NYK

Also, with Dwight Powell going down for maybe even a year, DAL needs a rim running center. They might even want Burks!

They own our 2nd rounder this year which will be good as well. I'd gladly give them Burks and WCS for a 2nd, that would clear up some hard cap space

CHA is also a good destination. They tried to sign WCS (offering him more than us, reportedly). If they want either or both i will gladly take CLE's 2020 2nd from them

Having a good second (or two) will give us more options because they can be combined with the TPE. There are lots of targets that are not worth our 1st, but we have no minor asset to package

Return to Golden State Warriors
