if you aren't a baller who has played college level, and if you haven't played against the women at that level, I basically think you have zero ability to guess how good an WNBA player is, and your random guess says more what you think about women. the guys voting 13 here are just not even on the map for this question.

I think even at 18 years old... sure those kids are gonna get some dunks and blocks and some nice 1 on 1 moves. But c'mon: Liz Cambage, A'ja Wilson, Stewie, Delle Donne.... they're going to school those kids in terms of passing, defensive footwork. I think the 18 year old mcdonalds all-stars are going to mess them up in transition a bit. But the halfcourt game goes to the WNBA players.

Agree. I think it would take a very good varsity boys basketball team to beat a good D1 women's team (e.g. Stanford). Once you get up to professional, probably only the best varsity teams in the country could beat a WNBA team or the US Olympic team (and for that, I think it would be more evenly matched than people think).

EDIT: if we are thinking world's team, I think the best U16 teams could probably hang with/beat a good Women's Olympic team, but it would probably be a very good game. If the women were able to keep the pace slower, they might be able to win.

If It was a team of 13 year old Lebrons, I'd say 13. Otherwise, 15 seems to be safe for me. How many women can dunk? There are thousands of 15 year old boys that could run circles and fly over these women.

If we’re matching up age for age, it would have to be age 13. That’s really the only age that the girls would have a size & skill advantage.

I think 15 is the last age where WNBA players could even compete because by that time, young dudes start to get growth spurts & have a massive athletic advantage.

HS teams like Monteverde or Oak Hill Academy, as currently constructed, would destroy a team of the best WNBA players by a wide margin.

If you took all the best HS prospects at 16-18 & put them all on one team, it’d be over by halftime. Most of those kids are D1/borderline NBA level prospects at that age.

No way. An allstar team of 16 years old highschool players would go undefeated through an WNBA season. Easily. I mean, look at Zion Williamson when he was 16.

A few years back, an under 15 team of German Bundesliga team Stuttgartn destroyed the then world champion women football team. And they didn't even play 90 minutes. Lore like 60.

I think it was the U-15 Stuttgart academy team vs. the #5 Australian women’s squad, not the top team in the world.

However, the U-15 FC Dallas academy club team did defeat the US Women’s National team in a scrimmage 5-2 (caveat: that wasn’t the full strength US team in season, and they did end up losing that year to both England and France).

nope, it was the german national team, at that time world champion. i just checked, it was in 2003. they won 3:0.

Years ago, Lauren Jackson practiced with at least 1 NBL team and was considered good enough to get onto a roster

She’s 6’5”

Let’s assume that they were being nice and at best she would have been an end of bench player

Fill up a roster with female players of her standard and you have a very bad NBL team

Team of world’s best 16yos would do a number on them

Newcastle (Australia) u/14s or 15s beat Australia minus Sam Kerr something like 4-1 a couple of years ago

Son of a friend played in that game and said they were pretty awful

Women’s football is years behind basketball

I believe All-Star Women have a chance to win a game on a large sample (1 on 30 maybe), with All-Star 16yo boys.
They certainly do not have any chance with 17+ boys.

The goal post have been moved a few times here. I thought the original question was at what age could professional women athletes beat men at any consistently. In that context I'm thinking your average high school team, not your McDonald's all americans who might be able to go to the NBA.

I don't know, the first post was pretty clear to me (top vs top)... not sure how to answer the question the way you understood it, what is an average team? or an average player?
I would expect a WNBA team to MURDER me and my friends when we were 18, nobody taller than 6-4 and a just a 3-4 of us could dunk. Or Serena Williams to destroy my 18 yo self (even if in my tennis club there was a girl who was like top50 in Italy U18, and I was holding my own with her while being nonathletic and nontalented myself, just saying)

Edit your post to include: *no age limit for the women, e.g. the top WNBA players.

Your vague wording confused multiple people into thinking that the men and women would be the same age...

The poll question "At What Age Limit Would the Top Men Lose to the Top Women?"... doesn't specify that the women are grown ups :D

No it wasn't vague at all. Why would the question be about same age? 8 year old boys team would be an 8 year girls team, that's not a question.
