The shooting from deep by Zion. Boy if he can force defenses to respect him from 3, it's gonna be biiiiiiiiig trouble for the league. Can't put quick guys on him because he'll overpower them and draw stupid levels of contact. Can't put big guys on him because he'll shoot or blow right past them, draw in help, and have tons of options.

Did not see this coming. I mean I knew he'd be great but I thought he'd struggle from 3.

Embiid (31 games):
20/8/2 with 1 steal and 2.5 blocks on a 58 TS%

Brogdon (75 games):
10/3/4 with 1 steal and 0.2 blocks on a 55 TS%

Brogdon won ROY over Embiid that year. So Embiid in 31 games couldn't win it over Brogdon who had a very weak rookie year. Why are we supposed to believe that Zion who will most likely end up around that 31 game mark will win it over Ja who is having a great rookie year?

I guess we all get excited to see a great rookie performance and I'm no different. The games where Ja showed up were electric and so I didn't think anyone could beat him so wasn't following the rookie ladder like I used to from week to week. But now, we do have a Joel Embiid to give Ja a run for his money. I couldn't put money on Zion to win, but would you put big bucks for Ja to win now? I don't think he's got it locked up like on Tuesday. He's still the favorite and still way out in front, but we'll have to see. A few more big games from Zion could have a lot more people and eyeballs interested in this race.

With no hesitation. Again unless Zion goes all Wilt on everyone and starts racking up 40/20/5 kind of games, this isn't going to happen. Again Embiid with 20/8/2 with elite defense couldn't win vs Brogdon who might have had the weakest ROY season in recent memory. Ja is having a great rookie season so far and would be a legit ROY winner. Zion would have to be Wilt 2.0 these last 30+ games for it to even be a discussion and still wouldn't win.

Embiid got 1st team, so playing only 30ish games doesn't seem to be an issue for that. So ya I think he can easily still make the 1st team.

given the content here since last night should we now change the poll to beg the question whether or not Zion can overtake Ja for ROY?

Nunn has played better than Herro so far. But that's expected right now. Comes off the bench, years younger. Meh.

Zion doesnt have the playmaking and Nola should be happy if he gets to giannis levels(who is above average) in the future.

Luka is the best prospect since Durant. He had accomplishments that no other teenager has ever had prior to being drafted.

There is a massive gap between being the Euroleague MVP and dominating in college.
