If there were 5 people on board that died, one is Kobe, one is the pilot, that only leaves 3 other people. I don't see how his 4 daughters could all be dead, as well. I hope none were onboard. I was no Kobe fan, but this is a sad day for the sports community, his family, friends, fans, and so many others.

Yea like I said in a previous post, the 5:00 and on games should be cancelled. I understand them not cancelling the 230 and 300 (Central time) games because it's really late breaking news. But as for the 5:00 games , they have plenty of time to make arrangements

Think the accident happened at 10:00AM (not sure if ET or PT) - but either way if he did something an hour ago he couldn’t have been on the helicopter cause that was after the accident.

Kobe was likely the pilot of the chopper.

only roberto clemente comes to mind.

for those that don't know clemente, he was a hall of fame outfielder. died in plane crash while delivering earthquake relief supplies in nicarauga (clemente was puerto rican).

similar on many fronts. clemente was a known humanitarian who would have had an important life beyond baseball. and he was even closer to the game when he died. had just collected his 3000 hit in the last game of the season and died a few months later. he was 38.

Ayrton Senna was huge too
