Yeah he looks really good. Huffing and puffing some. Just an unusual body type but a dominant type game.

I wonder how Melo is feeling right now. Kobe always referred to him as his brother.

Gosh, Zion sure is gifted. I've never seen that kind of power on the court combined with so much natural ability, finesse and touch. He's a beast. He may become unguardable. If he can stay healthy he has MVP talent. Not sure he can, but I hope he does, because what he can do is special and unique.

Lillard honoring Kobe by dropping fifty.

Had some very nice words about him after as well.

Smart was on him most of the game and he couldn't do anything to stop him, Zion is basically giannis from 3 years ago at 19, if he gets a jumper it's over

At least we did our best in terms of putting ourselves in a position to draft him.

Another Luka-loss for the Mavs. Chokes every Q4. And he was pally af with all of the Jazz players after the game. This is becoming Westbrook-like.

Carlisle can't believe in Boban because he doesn't 3. :shrug_txt:

Mavs are pretenders. It's Doncic and a bunch of role players.

Yeah they’re not anywhere near that tier 1 level yet. They’re on that 2nd tier of teams that might win a round in the playoffs but will lose 4-2 or 4-1 in the 2nd round to one of the heavyweights.

It’s not a knock on them. They’re in year 2 with Doncic. 5 years from now it’s an issue.

That's why I'm not too confident in the pick we got. By next year, they might be top 4 in the West.

The Knicks should hang up #61 to commemorate Kobe's 61 points at the Garden. It's still the most points scored by an opponent at the Garden (I know Harden tied it last year and Melo broke the record but that was as a Knicks player, so he got plenty of games in). And nobody should dare to ever break it.

Likewise, the Raptors should hang #81.

Looks like he can shoot already. Those three pointers were line drive bullets, so maybe not typical form, but the accuracy was there and they splashed. Those were with his feet set and I don't know if he needs to work on his mid-range, but he looks like a scoring machine already. I thought he might be a Barkley comp, but this guy is different. The athletic ability in that frame is unreal.

The only thing stopping him is his habits. With his build he needs to take care of his body very well or the g-force of those moves will rip his connective tissues apart. So far, he looks pudgy so I'm not betting on his dedication yet. The talent is mind-blowing, but his commitment to self-care is a big question mark.

P.S. He is way more advanced than Giannis was at that age IMO. Different talents though so hard to compare them.

It still doesn’t feel real. Having people talk about him like he’s not around. All these current and former players talking about him and getting emotional. It feels like some sort of alternate universe. I can’t believe it.

Yeah, a lot of people are concerned he'll have a lot of wear and tear injuries, it seems, and are discounting the very real chance he might get a severe shearing injury like Bo Jackson - though Bo took incredible care of his body, so it's not maybe the most appropriate example for injury, but it is for a really large, really freakishly strong and explosive athlete.

Yes, Bo seems like a better comparison than any NBA player, really.
