He is a world class fantasy player but not a franchise changer.

He is going to get a ton in trade and get a supermax. This guy is literally a boat anchor, much like Wiggins. Would I trade Felicio and a 1st for Towns? Of course. Anything that Chicago could actually get him with would be franchise destroying.

The only way it makes sense to add KAT is if we trade Lauri+ for him and play KAT at PF next to WCJ and/or Gafford.

I'm not the least bit worried about him getting a supermax, he is under contract through the 2023-24 season. 4 more seasons after this one, with no player option anywhere. He didn't get a supermax off his rookie deal, it's actually pretty rare nowadays for a player to sign for 5 years after his rookie deal without any early opt-out.

I'd gladly give them Lauri and 3 1st-rd picks, another young player or two and whatever salary relief they want to have KAT playing PF.

Speaking of the Knicks.....

Read on Twitter

Edit: the “fracas” was Elfdid Payton shoving Jae Crowder to the floor after Crowder, with 51 seconds left, stole a lazy ass inbounds, and stepped back to the corner shooting a 3. The Knicks got but hurt, announcer started talking “unwritten rule”, and Morris got in it then started talking about Crowder having “female tendencies” in post game.

Apparently Knicks players think teams and players should stop playing earlier than normal when the Knicks are being beat so as to not hurt their delicate feelings.

A fracas on the court?

Did a fan just go reverse Artest on them?

I'm going to say this and many are going to get mad.

From a pure talent and potential perspective, Karl Anthony Towns is top 3-5 in the NBA. His effort and leadership skills are complete dog ****.

From a franchise impacting and complete player perspective, Jimmy Butler is a better player than him.

You cannot bring a KAT to this franchise with this FO and win a damn thing. You might not even make the playoffs. KAT is not the guy that is going to drag you team to the playoffs on his back and elevate your franchise. He's a dude who puts up great numbers and is highly regarded but doesn't pass the sniff test.
Minnesota isn't even tanking this year and they are the 5th worst team in the NBA with 2 #1 overall picks in KAT and Wiggins on max deals.

They don't even have the excuse that they don't have talent. Their talent just doesn't give a damn about being great and winning.

Agree. But, how can you say KAT is a top 5 talent and doesn't impact winning? The NBA has seen a lot of top 5 talent type players who didn't win anything. Off-course, you need a great team to win and that's always there. But, some of these guys are so used to their heavy usage and they are even efficient with high usage but cannot function when the high usage drops off on a more talented team. Even LeBron, Bosh had those issues in Miami.

That's why Melo never won anything as he couldn't understand a lower usage role and still be efficient/contribute as a positive player for 38-40 minutes. Jimmy might be less talented but he wants to win and pushes every button to get wins. And, we all know these windows of winning are small for most stars/teams. Maybe KAT grows up but it doesn't look like it.

Talent and potential are not the same thing as impact. KAT does not put forth the effort to be truly great and impact winning.
Wiggins is another one, he's talented as hell, he has a massive amount of potential and he gives no effort to be great.

Again, you have 2 #1 OA picks on the team and you can't make it to the playoffs or even threaten to make it?

That Payton shove on Crowder was out of just frustration not some unwritten player code.

If Crowder stole the ball and its 5 second left, then its one thing. But it was like 50 seconds left. They still would have ran a play to shoot the ball. So Payton just lost it.

42-21=21

morant didn't play much better than jones, which goes to show you how meaningless a stat regular +/- is. certainly on a single game basis

Also, the All Star reserves will be announced today at 7PM ET, so we'll see if Zach makes the cut.

Well, at least now the game should be more entertaining to the fans and maybe have the players actually go hard for something.

I think this will be the best ASG in a while. They're gonna be competing in Kobe's honor, and the quarter-to-quarter format is going to make it competitive from the top of the game.

You can still build a good team paying 35 million to a good in-prime top 15 player, IMO. The Bulls need to figure out a way to not pay the second/third/fourth tier guys so much money like they are doing with Porter, Thad, Felicio etc...

Felicio was a terrible contract no matter how you slice it. OPJ's contract is fine, he's a glue guy and helps level the play of others.

Looks like lavine didn't make the all star team.

Wanted it for him but honestly the people who made it deserved it more

I don't have an issue with the guys that made it. It still sucks though for Zach. He deserved to make the team.

This is goes to everything this season. Just about every aspect sucked about this Bulls season.

I just fear that Zach will just go through the motions the rest of the way.

Return to Chicago Bulls
