Re: Trade Thread, Part 3: The Fun Continues
I really don't want to move Langford. Just a gut feeling he is going to be the 4 wing behind Hayward, Tatum and Brown, and eventually be Hayward's replacement. ( in 2-3 years) Seems liike his court vision is there, just needs to get experience. Who better to learn from than those 3. I also don't want to move G. Williams. Of the rookies, I think Edwards is the one that needs to be moved. Along with Semi and Wannamaker.

Nothinf about any of romeo playing career, hughschool, college, gleague, nba has ahown anything t all of him being a good or willing passer.
In the gleague his ssist rate is the same as poirier and below maten.
Its 8
Last season in college it was 14, he ranked 124th player in college. Behind centers and ofs. Zion was much higher
Courtvision is lrge prt, the rest is willingness to pass.
He has neither

His unwillingness to pass I understand. While in G League, and also while in college, he is /was called on to try and take over while on the floor. Some of that may be pressure to "show out" because he was a 1st round pick. IDK. He also was dealing with a broken thumb on his shooting hand during that same time. Like I said, just a gut feeling is all.

I have absolutely no idea why Christian Wood is an afterthought in the NBA. He's been doing the same **** since he was drafted, just never given a chance for some reason. He must be a truly miserable human to deal with or something. He's like the perfect center for today's NBA. Walking 20/10 in the g league for 4 years before the Pistons gave him a chance basically. Pelicans let him play for a few weeks last year and he was awesome. Maybe I'm missing something. I'd love him as the backup C on the Celtics next year. He's better than Drummond ffs. Dude would be amazing under Stevens.

I'm not gonna claim to know his high school career, but he had a 14% assist rate in college with a broken hand the entire season. He was the 5th overall prospect in his high school class. He has a good handle, great ability to get the rim, elite finishing ability. Maybe he's a black hole, but I kind of doubt it. I think his handle is better than Tatum's at the least, and he had a higher assist rate that Tatum in college.
His assist rate is definitely low in the g league, but its 166 minutes and I have no idea what his role has been there. But yeah, def disappointed in his season so far. Is it the injuries? Is he just really raw? Mostly I just don't get why he isn't playing at any level when healthy. If he needs development, send him to the g league and play him 30 minutes a night as the primary ball handler. I guess I'll just assume the team knows best and they think he's better off developing individual skills with trainers/coaches in Boston v. just playing lots of minutes in the G League. Which is totally fair, not many lottery picks are in the G League their first year unless they're exceptionally raw.
Poirier hasn't played in the G league, btw.

Poirier has played in the G league, and Langford should never be the primary ball handler over Waters.
I’m not opposed to dealing Langford at all in the right package, just think he has absolutely zero value across the league right now. Might as well keep him and hope he figures it out here

Re: Trade Thread, Part 3: The Fun Continues
Christian Wood is extremely talented. Ask any of his present coaches and any of his teammates, and they just gush about his talent. However, they all give the same answer as to why he hasn’t “popped” yet in the league.
Wood has played on five different NBA teams, along with being in and out of the G-League his entire career. Even after averaging 16.9 points and 7.9 rebounds for the New Orleans Pelicans last year to end the season, he was still cut by the team.
Why?
There’s been common knowledge among those close to the Detroit Pistons and around the team that Wood has struggled with professionalism, and has been quite immature to start his career.

I’d give up our own first but not the Memphis pick. I still think Memphis is a lottery team when the season is over

And if it isn't? Just keep holding onto it until it's worthless?

Re: Trade Thread, Part 3: The Fun Continues
I would give our pick for Rose, Memphis not off course.
Only 2 for 1 trade that works is
Poirier+Semi for Rose
More logical would be Poirier+Wanamaker...but it's not enough salary wise, got to add 3rd player like Green or Edwards.
So Poirier, Semi, Bos pick...would you do it?
Than there is another even better 3 for 2 option:
Poirier, Semi, Wanamaker
For
Rose, Wood
That is probably worth both Bos&Mil picks.

Think Danny makes any moves before the Deadline?

I dont think so, the last few years we have not added anything with any sort of impact. The Spur method of standing pat and allowing his players to not feel threatened by a move has grown on me. If Robbie has no sign of returning fully healthy sometime, I'll change my mind.

Would you board the #17 train to Brown Towns?

Would you board the #17 train to Brown Towns?
I've recently seen some people discussing a trade of Towns for Brown and the Memphis pick which sits at 17 last I checked. Would you be down with the Celtics doing this? Would you have the heart to do this to Jaylen being we're not even sure if Towns has one? We are desperately thin at the big man spots, and Towns is elite offensively, but his lack of effort on D is also offensive. It makes sense fit wise as we are pretty stacked on the wing, but am I just falling victim to the old cliche "we can change him" fools gold like so many dumb bitches before me? Has Danny's resistance to draft anyone over 6'8 driven me insanely grasping at straws with the blinders turned up to 11?

Who is discussing this? That isn't close to a Towns package.

I'd be boarding yeah but that package doesn't get us Towns unless he asks out for Boston in specific.
