Loved seeing Melo encouraging the crowd for Dame's MVP chant. Wish he could have been here earlier, Dame can literally make anyone with a past of seeming selfish be an amazing team player.

Something else to ponder. During this stretch of great games Dame is actually averaging more assists(10apg) per game than his season average (7.8apg) which strongly suggests his high scoring isn't because he is being selfish.

I never thought that we would see a player more impactful than Broy but Dame has passed him and its not even close. This man is ridiculous. Im in awe.

I know that other players have probably been on similar runs in the modern era....I just can't recall them, and in this case, I watched every minute of what Dame has done....unreal is an understatement.

I am a little concerned about Dame's minutes because they have been high over the last 10 games...close to 39 minutes/game

in the last 3 games:

Dame - 135 points on 80 shots (33 assists)
Hassan - 62 points on 33 shots (13 blocks)
CJ - 55 points on 55 shots (10 assists)

The guys really seemed to be having fun tonight. Melo & Ariza together and Dame plus the injured on the bench. Keep this up!

I’ll be honest, I thought this might be the game we saw Lillard come back down to earth a little bit, Conley is a smart defender with great length and Utah does a great job defending the 3pt line.

Based on how teams are playing him, Lillard’s gravity has now extended to well past the 3pt line which opens up everything for both him and the team—which is why his assists are up. It’s a marvel to see how much his game has developed between his ears.

Also, kudos to Stotts for giving the freedom and trusting Lillard enough to take the shots he feels comfortable with. For all of us old timers...can you imagine a player shooting some of these shots 30+ years ago? Hell, 10 years ago? They’d be instantly yanked from the game. Jason Williams was the first player I saw taking deep threes and not getting yanked...Adelman knew he wasn’t going to rein that in.

Big kudos to Whiteside as well, who really outplayed Gobert. Ignoring for a moment his defensive rebounding and ability to alter shots around the basket, Hassan’s touch around the basket is an overlooked part of his game, and it’s been a big part of any success the Blazers have had this season. I find it highly doubtful that both he and Nurkic can actively coexist going forward—which is really a shame. Those two would pretty easily make the best C tandem in the league.

I took a look back at Kobe’s highest scoring season. He had two stretches like this during that season. One of those stretches included his 81 point game.

If there was every any doubt Portland now has a superduperstar, maybe our first since Clyde depending on what you call Roy.

Looks like Dame is separating himself as the number 1 blazer of all time assuming he finishes off his career in Portland. What he’s done over this stretch is unbelievable, he is now number 10 all time with 10 50 point games, the next best blazer is in the 3-5 50 point game area. So clearly our best scorer ever at bare minimum I’d say

I know it wont be the case next year, but if we are able to sneak into the playoffs we could come with a significant size advantage, a very different look than teams have scouted for us, since we have been undersized all season.

Having one of Nurkic or Hassan on the court all 48 minutes is already more than most teams could match against, but then also having Collins and Skal play next to them in a "twin towers" lineup would be something teams have not seen from us this year and could catch their scouting a bit under-prepared. In the playoffs it is nice to have extra big men, especially so your shot blockers and rebounders can stay aggressive without worrying about fouls.

Hassan has been really good these past two games. Too bad it took this long to get lob chemistry with Damian.

I actually don't think its crazy to project we can afford Hassan given the center market this offseason. I think he will get MLE money. If there was some guarantee that he would be content with a 20-22mpg backup role, I would have him bac assuming he cost around 3/30M. I just don't know that he would remain content. Then again, if any culture can convince him to accept that role its the one the Blazers have built.
