Maybe people's ideals are rooted in less these days or Bernie has an ability to get ideas explained in a way that converts people over?

He admitted that he voted for Gary Johnson in 2016 because GJ was the only one who did his podcast. Now he's endorsing Bernie and Tulsi...who are the ones who did his podcast this election cycle. It's not surprising.

Yang also did his podcast and Rogan says that he turned others down.

He's not endorsing Tulsi (or Yang). He says he turned down Warren.

He turned down Warren to be on the podcast? That's weird if true. Why not talk to her?

Sorry I'm on vacation out of the country and just read a headline/forum post that he endorsed Sanders/Tulsi. Idk where they got that if not true.

I have heard him call Sanders ideas "nutty" though, 100%. I wonder what made him change his mind.

re: turning down other candidates. I don't think of Rogan as a liar or a braggart, so believe this.

lol, MoveOn:

“It’s one thing for Joe Rogan to endorse a candidate. It’s another for @BernieSanders’ campaign to produce a video bolstering the endorsement of someone known for promoting transphobia, homophobia, Islamophobia, racism and misogyny,” MoveOn said on Twitter.

Are you **** kidding me? The idea that Rogan promotes any of those things - nevermind all of them - is ridiculous. Not surprising: MoveOn being an arm of the Warren campaign.

There are literally thousands of hours of joe on his podcast. I'm sure they could find out of context clips (or maybe in context, idk) that provide evidence of all of those things.

I've heard joe say the n word before, heard him talk about islamic extremism, and there are endless rants about biological men competing in women's sports. Boom there's your racism, islamophobia, and transphobia all covered!

Anyone that thinks its unfair for a former male to compete in combat sport is considered a transphobe? That's kinda silly. Especially if said transgender person just started taking estrogen.

Didn't say you did, but Joe Rogan's biggest gripe is with transgenders in combat sports and with power lifting, which is a valid gripe to have.

It is. But to defend that specific sports regulation policy, and to also have Ben Shapiro and Gavin McGinnis and dozens of other raging anti-lgbtq voices on, requires that he carefully expresses what he is and is not saying w re to Fallon Fox or whomever.

It's this "woke" culture where you literally can't even talk to a guy that's remotely controversial or you are 100% endorsing and exactly that person you're talking to. He talks to Milo among other controversial types, who I don't agree with on probably most of his ideas, but at least I got to listen to "the other side" which is hella more helpful, providing more context to this crazy world and let's me understand why people think the way they think, than just shutting these people out.

And this whole thing where Rogan has said something actually controversial, regarding transgender people for example, where he probably went a little too deep, he apologized for it. That's a few segments in the literal thousands of hours of documented recording. I'd wager if anyone commit to thousands of hours of recording over a decade that they too would have their own failings, even if unintentionally.

I don't listen to the JRE regularly (just too much content), but I did listen to his conversation with Bernie, and based on (only) that, I'm not surprised he's endorsing him.

Also think it's a good move for Bernie to accept it. Unless I misunderstand his base, they won't be bothered by it, but it might bring in some new support.

It's again a very vocal minority or ones who "represent" a minority.

Most people, whether they fall in some sort of minority (race, disability, religion, sexuality etc) or not, are fairly reasonable and understanding. But it's those who "speak for others" that tend to be (naturally) the biggest voice and they'll have a core staunch supporters but I don't really believe that most people in the LGBT community who were going to vote for Bernie are going to change their vote because of this.

I fall in a minority group where I'm from and for sure Joe has made fun of my community (for comedic purposes) but those instances a few and far in between and having been listening to JRE for many years, I think I would've got even a small suspicion that he was racist, transphobe or anti-whatever by now but I think it's the complete opposite.

This is a super random post but I was just reading a thread on reddit that pointed out that Demain Maia is 42 years old. I would have guessed 38-39 off the top of my head. He's 10 of his last 13 with his only losses dating back to 2014 coming to the undisputed top 3 WWs in the world in Usman/Woodley/Colby. Even before that though, he only lost to champions with the exceptions of Munoz/Colby.

Double digit submission wins in the UFC. Pretty cool.

I honestly thought he was older than that. Funny how perception is. I feel like he was 35 at least a decade ago lol.

It's just rare to see a guy from a "lower" weight class succeeding still at his age. HW and LHW are different stories, but WW is one of the best divisions.

His game ages really well. So would Askren's if he didn't have his hip issue.

And could throw a punch with purpose or even to properly set take downs up more effectively.

Askren, I love for entertainment, but he's homer simpson out there just plodding forward and taking hits to get in the clinch.
In his prime I don't think he beats any of the elite guys in theirs. He would demolish the 5-10 class, but the elite guys? I doubt it. They are too smart. If he could drop weight, watching him vs Khabib would have been a hell of a contest though.

Colby did his first interview since the fight. I was thinking it'd be good to hear from him but I was already done with it by his second answer. Just 20 minutes of cringe as usual.

The one thing I thought was funny was calling Masvidal "Street Judas" instead of Street Jesus. I don't really consume Colby content so not sure if that's a new one but it made me chuckle.
