I can't see the Braves going after Betts because he's going to be making a zillion dollars after this season.

Had a real good 2017 but since then he's fallen off a cliff in his early 30's. Unless there's an injury to blame for the drop, he might be done.

This isn't good - from CBSsports.com:

Bryant now center of trade rumor mill
Before the dust even settled on the Betts trade, Kris Bryant's name was on the minds of baseball fans. It was only natural. We'd been hearing about a possible Bryant trade all offseason, though it was held up by his service-time grievance. That was resolved last week and we now know Bryant has two more years of team control. I mentioned a group of teams for whom Bryant made sense (though we've now removed the Dodgers).
Here's the latest on Bryant
The Nationals and Phillies have shown "at least exploratory interest," per Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
There was a Twitter-born rumor that Bryant had interest from the Braves, but Jon Heyman of MLB Network shot that down, saying there is "no talk."

I've seen some ideas on Twitter, that the Braves should go after Pederson, now that the trade sending him to the Angels fell through. After Betts trade, Dodgers have Betts, Belinger and Pollack in the OF.

Would Inciarte, B Wilson, Touki get it done?

I'd be interested in him but wouldn't include Wilson - with Pederson becoming a free agent after the 2020 season. Don't want to lose a trade with the Dodgers.

Good point, didn't know he was a FA at the end of the season. Inciarte and Touki enough?

I would have said probably not - except considering how little Boston got for Betts, maybe it is enough.

So the deal would have been Pederson, starter Ross Stripling and #13 prospect Andy Pages for 2b Luis Rengifo. Seems like a trade just to get rid of Pederson and Rengifo.

I'd call and offer Inciarte and Touki for Pederson.

Interesting considering he's haf all off season to rest. I wish him well and hope to see him with the team soon.

I read Cole will miss three weeks. If he needs more time we should be fine. It's a long season anyway.

Veteran right-hander Felix Hernandez also spoke with the media on Thursday and told reporters that he is healthy, is a bit lighter and is ready to go compete for a roster sport.

“I’m just glad to be here,” Hernández said. “It’s a great team, a great organization and a great group of guys. My mindset is I’m healthy. I’m just going to go out there and compete against anybody.”

Brian Snitker discussed Thursday’s workout, Felix Hernandez and if he is concerned about the team’s starting depth.

It'd be pretty wild if Felix holds the fort for as long as it takes for Cole to get back at 100%.
