I know that you lurk on here, and you know what I'm talking about dude. I'll leave it at that. Your obsession with Kyrie and me for that matter is very unhealthy. Let it go.

My bad I had no intentions to bring you into any conversations but those two really obsessed with you.

Serious question.

Would you do Dinwiddie/Kurucs for Covington + Vonleh/Bell or Napier?

I don't feel comfortable trading Spencer. We have no other shot creators aside from him and Kyrie. When KD comes back we will still need competent guard play and Kyrie is always going to miss games so i think keeping Spencer is a necessity.

It's all good, I don't even know what conversation it is, it's just weird and creepy to see this guy And 1 a post of mine from last August. It's been months since I told him to take his bet and shove it up his ass and he still obsesses over me. Dude has serious issues.

It may sound like I'm parsing words, but I'm going to disagree with you completely, due to a very slight distinction.

Rather than say he's not helping us win games (patently false), the proper perspective is that with him as the lead dog, we still can't win games. Any metric will tell you that he is helping us, but it's not enough because this team is so dysfunctional. Not many stars could salvage such a dreadful defensive supporting cast, especially since we've been in a long shooting slump since December.

You conveniently forget that Spencer was making tons of WTF plays when he was on his hot streak. That's the nature of his game, you take the bone-headed plays because he lives on that edge to make great plays as well. The difference between then and now is partly that he's cooled off, but more than anything is the absence of quality defensive players, specifically Nwaba. We weathered injuries to other guys, but he was the last vestige of elite defense on this squad, he covered a ton of ills. He had just started to emerge, and we miss him terribly. Don't blame Dinwiddie for us losing, he's the least of our concerns, warts and all.

we went 13-13 with him as lead dog. we also turned things around last year with him going off after Caris injury

Dinwiddie can help keep you a .500 team, and come out on top vs most bad teams. you arent beating the lakers or bucks, or clippers or teams like that with him. but he 100% helps you win games as the lead dog. he led us to wins over philly and miami and boston... so it wasnt all crap teams

he isnt a star though, and he is going to go through some bad stretches. keep in mind, when dinwiddie is lead dog, he has ZERO help. he was relying on pinson and musa for big minutes

I don't know why its so crazy to expect someone who thinks he an All Star to keep us at .500 in the East.

I can think of at least 10 games this season where we had the lead in the 4th Q and Dinwiddie has been at the helm of a collapse.

Its not just defense. Its his decision making in the 4th Q and end of games. Taking bad shots and not creating offense at the right times.

He had an amazing stretch a few months ago. And since then its been pretty bad.

a low level all-star reserve/injury replacement type isnt enough to keep you .500 when you have no help. look at beal for instance. or towns.

dinwidde is relying on guys like pinson, musa, prince ot provide offense. thats not going to work over 82 games. maybe over 15 or 20 like it did. And yea, dinwidde has made some bad choices late in games.... but he has to. its not like somone else is going to create and make shots at end of games

He helped us win games months ago. Lately we have been one of the worst teams in the league.

that is typically what happens when you have a stretch of games like:

Philly, Utah, Philly, Milwaukee, Lakers

This is false, and you know it.

Dude was the 2nd best player on the floor in last night's game and yall are throwing him under the bus? Doesn't compute.

I'd like to know why it's false.
Yet we still lost to lottery team. Sorry I look beyond numbers and seen enough to say certain things just ain't working. 50 games is enough to draw some conclusions.

the conclusion is diniwddie cant win consistenly with prince, musa, and pinson as his supprting cast.

spencer sucks i guess

Meh its a close trade but I wouldn't do it. Covington is everything we need Prince to be.

I agree with MDB Spencer is a damn good player one of the best backups in the league no way do you trade him.
It would be sweet if they could have kept Napier since Kyrie misses a lot of games to play the same role he did last year. He's a tough player and was perfect as 3rd guard but that's water under the bridge now.

Maybe they get a point guard in the draft.

I agree but...

Zach Lowe reports that the Nets are “active at least taking calls and listening, as most teams are, per several league sources,” but offers no rumors about trade possibilities. He does speculate about the possibility of a Spencer Dinwiddie-for-Aaron Gordon.

I’ve always been intrigued by a Dinwiddie for Aaron Gordon swap, but it’s unclear how feasible that is. The Magic are thin up front with Jonathan Isaac and Al-Farouq Aminu injured. They are going to make the playoffs by de-fault, the two sweetest words in the English language (and the Eastern Conference).

Lowe also suggests that Dinwiddie is the Nets best trade piece, noting ...

The trio of Kyrie Irving, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Caris LeVert just hasn’t meshed yet. Right now, the Nets are bringing both LeVert and Dinwiddie off the bench. That seems unsustainable.

Dinwiddie for Aaron Gordon right now would be a Billy King esque move. Zach Lowe can **** off

The issue is not Kyrie and Spencer, it's the fact that Caris LeVert forgot how to play basketball.

We can't afford to trade Dinwiddie. We have to face facts that Kyrie's availability is always going to be a concern and frankly we need Spencer regardless going forward because he's an elite level driver and finisher at the rim. If we're going to turn this roster into a championship caliber one I think Spencer has to stay.
