Joba's got great control. He was aiming for him.

If he was head hunting, I don't support it. If he lost control, if I'm Guidry, I ask "What the hell was that?".

We sweep, take control of the Wild Card, Great stuff from Wang, Joba in the 8th, and Edwar to finish, Jeter goes 4-4, Cano blasts two, I'm happy.

From the replays it looked like he lost the balls.

Anyway, it makes no sense to throw at Youk there - especially not with Joba. So I really do not see how this could have been intentional.

He threw at his head twice but missed both times by a lot. He was tossed with no warning by Angel Hernandez.

Good job Edwar.

Thanks Nancy!!!

I think he threw at him, and honestly, as long as you don't break the guy's face, sometimes you have to send messages like that. Pedro use to throw at Yankees all the time, and A-Rod's gotten hit a lot this year too. Two can play at that game, and when a 98 MPH fastball is coming at you, things could change.

Huge sweep.

A couple things from this thread...

1) Its an ump not a ref

2) Yes, Andy Phillips is better defensively than Giambi, I'm glad he came in for defense. Giambi is slow, has no range, an average glove, and a noodle arm at best.

3) About the Youkilis thing...I didn't see it live I was working. He probably did try and brush him back once, if not twice. I doubt he was trying to drill him in the head or anything like that. If there is one thing we've noticed about Joba is that he has great control. I don't mind what happened out there at all because he isn't getting suspended over it.....if he gets suspended well....i'll be pretty damn pissed at Angel Hernandez
