Passing is so underrated skill. Everyone is talking about shooting and they are right, but passing and ballhandling are equally important. Not like the coach puts them in the position to pass or handle the ball. If DJ was healthy he'd take the ball out of Markelle's hands. Cliff just doesn't trust young players.
Miami has a different philosophy. They throw them in the deep end and eventually they learn.
I do think Vucevic's defense has become a huge problem and it may force Clifford's hand to give Bamba more minutes. He knows as long as he can have a top 10 defense he'll have a job somewhere.

Heat plays Jimmy Butler- player who is older than Vučević and Evan as main ballhandler. Off bench main ballhandler is Goran Dragić, who is older than ANY MAGIC PLAYER , and they are their go to guys.
Despite drafting Herro in lottery ( another old rookie ) they actually start NUNN, one of oldest rookies this year (24 years old !).
Second year Duncan Robinson is turning 26 this year. TWENTY SIX, year and half younger than Evan.
They literally do polar opposite of what you say they do. They don't trow ANYBODY into role they can't play UNTIL THAT PLAYER IS GOOD ENOUGH TO FILL THAT ROLE.
Magic in last 5 years promoted Isaac, Fultz, Gordon and Payton in starting lineup ( + Hezonja from time to time) Based on NOTHING but their draft stock . And guess what, each and every one of them was unready for that position, didn't help team short term and didn't really develop in ways they hoped he will.
Bamba is only Magic rookie since JJ Redick who wasn't thrown head first into role he has no business touching.
