That wouldn't be the 1st time we draft someone without working him out.

True that!

Sabonis and Adebayo are really interesting players to me. They are really unique ( much like Jokic and Vuc, Gasol bros) where they have better passing insticts than most wings. Non of them is some outside shooter but they are active playres insde paint and play super high ( not like Vuc , Jokic  )

Everybody expected Turner to be Pacers center of the future but Domas simply outworked and outskilled him.

He simply can't have a bad BB IQ after watching his father play for so many years 8-)

Passing is so underrated skill. Everyone is talking about shooting and they are right, but passing and ballhandling are equally important. Its way easier to gameplan against you when you are limited passer, for exemple Ross. Thats main reason i dont think Bamba and Isaac will become true offensive contributors, you cant put the ball in their hands much.

Not like the coach puts them in the position to pass or handle the ball. If DJ was healthy he'd take the ball out of Markelle's hands. Cliff just doesn't trust young players.

Miami has a different philosophy. They throw them in the deep end and eventually they learn.

I do think Vucevic's defense has become a huge problem and it may force Clifford's hand to give Bamba more minutes. He knows as long as he can have a top 10 defense he'll have a job somewhere.

Heat does what? Do you even watch basketball?
Heat plays Jimmy Butler- player who is older than Vučević and Evan as main ballhandler. Off bench main ballhandler is Goran Dragić, who is older than ANY MAGIC PLAYER , and they are their go to guys.
Despite drafting Herro in lottery ( another old rookie ) they actually start NUNN, one of oldest rookies this year (24 years old !).
Second year Duncan Robinson is turning 26 this year. TWENTY SIX, year and half younger than Evan.

They literally do polar opposite of what you say they do. They don't trow ANYBODY into role they can't play UNTIL THAT PLAYER IS GOOD ENOUGH TO FILL THAT ROLE.

Magic in last 5 years promoted Isaac, Fultz, Gordon and Payton in starting lineup ( + Hezonja from time to time) Based on NOTHING but their draft stock . And guess what, each and every one of them was unready for that position, didn't help team short term and didn't really develop in ways they hoped he will.

Bamba is only Magic rookie since JJ Redick who wasn't thrown head first into role he has no business touching.

It's flat out crazy what type of garbage people like you here post. It's mindblowing. What's next hot take ? Lebron should play off bench because Lakers have to develop Kuzma? He fits timeline with Davis better, right? How about benching Kawhi Leonard for Landry Shamet, Shamet is born in 1997 = untapped potential.

Just mindblowing bias, blindness and delusion.

No Doncic, no Zingis, no problem.

Atlanta and Dallas started rebuild in same year.
Dallas is so much ahead of them that they can sit 2 of their best players and still blow them up by 23 points.

Shotout to Lillard. Man is on fire.

Knicks fired Steve Mills and are looking to replace him with Masai.

Our very own Scott Perry running the ship in the interim.

No better time to fire your PBO than 50 hours before the trade deadline

Man, Memphis really bounced straight back out of that rebuild phase, didn't they? 2 bad seasons via injuries, 2 best players traded for very little, a #4 pick and a #2 pick. Now, they're already back to .500 lead by that #2 pick, and the #4 and a 2nd round pick from Fultz/Isaac's draft class. Valanciunas looks to be playing a big role down there, too.

In January they had 4 players averaging over 16ppg, and they were 11-4 over that stretch. Dillon Brooks (the 2nd round pick) lead the team in scoring.

And they're so young! Just goes to show, there's more than one way to rebuild, but fastest is to just not mess up your opportunities.

Good on them, I really like their heart and hustle. Gives me young OKC vibes or something. I look forward to watching them grow.

just 2 cents about us being a lock for a playoff spot
aside of Hawks improving their roster

Bulls are not that far behind us.
Even if they stand pat at the deadline they will will get boosted by guys coming back from injury Wendell....and Otto.
It may be enough to propel them to that 8th spot.

If we miss the playoffs it could be for the better. We have really good excuse with our injuries. Weltman doesnt care that much about this year. He didnt spand any asset to improve us this year. All he did was using caps space and bringing injured young players on our team. The some interesting late lottery guys like Maxey, Mannion, Toppin (lol), Mcdaniels(lol)
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Hawks have a core of Young, Collins, Capela, Huerter, Hunter, Reddish. Add another wing in the lottery and spend their 60M in cap space wisely and they will just about run the division for the next decade.

Reddish is straight garbage.
Hunter is unreliable as of now and I'm not yet convinced of the ability of Trae not getting blown out by every single PG on this league. He might be the worst defender of the nba literraly. Gotta check the stats but it's crazy how he's getting torched on a daily basis.

For me its more about the style of play and the entertainment aspect. Seeing Hou playing is not interesting when all they do is launch 3s. And if every team is launching that many 3s its not a good product.
