I think we should be looking for a big too. Our Bigs have been great for the first half of the season, but over the last few weeks it feels like they've been getting exposed. McGee and Howard haven't been giving us a whole lot and that leaves Kuzma and Dudley...
If we could somehow get Triston Thompson... IDK... Bradley/Kuz/McGee/Cook works, but that's a whole lot to give up for TT and it would require convincing McGee to waive his virtual NTC...

Klutch tho... So who knows what can happen.

Again whats the criteria? By the time the fourth started Dwight in Dacramento had played 9 total minutes.
Versus Portland he played 11 going into the fourth.

IT IS ESSENTIALLY THE kUZMA EFFECT, WHAT DO YOU WANT THEM TO DO WHEN VOGLE PLAYS WITH THEIR MINUTES LIKE THAT? I get the idea of playing everyone the Kobe game but it through the minutes off wack. The Sacramento game say him shake up the rotation a bit too as Kuz sat most the second

They’re all three role players... I want them to play their roles...

And just pointing to their minutes doesn’t take things like effectiveness and foul trouble into consideration.

For rhythm it matters. Dwight had 2 fouls going into the fourth total. His munutes finished high because he closed the game with the garbage time crew which also impacted his plus minus. Heck hge got one attempt that whole game, no lobs or anything throw his way. Javale had 1 foul for the game and was a plus 12 in his 15 mins.

I can write off Portland because of the emotions and knowing they literally tried to play everyone on purpose that game which was about the right sentiment

The Lakers need shooting.... that's parroted a lot here. Well... we're number one in shooting % overall and number 4 in effective shooting % (FT % is killing us there). 3 point % is tied with the Clippers at 12th.

3 point % is not nearly as important for us as it is for some of our key competition IMHO. In fact I think having James and Davis shooting 3's is a detriment to our chances because they shoot 30% high from the paint and force fouls on the other team in doing so.

I think our shooting is just fine... what we need is a wing scorer off the bench who can finish at the rim IMHO. That type of player is missing from this squad other than Rondo who isn't what he used to be in that area.

So Marcus Morris for Kuzma and others.

I really wish we can send Rondo away.

I hope we pass on this, I wouldn’t give up Kuzma for Morris.

That was my original thought too, but then again, Morris is kinda what this team needs... Offensively, he's doing what we want Kuzma to do, only more consistently... Defensively, he's quite a bit better, and he's got some dog in him... I think between good guy LeBron, and good guy Davis, we need a bad guy to help with the intensity...

That said, it's not the home run move I think we're hoping for... Dude's 30 and the Celts thought he was declining quite a bit... But as a swap for today, it'd make us better.

The Celtics didn’t think he was declining. He was too honest to be in that room. He defended Kyrie, he told it like it was about Hayward, and he questioned the coaches that year.

The biggest issue people have is he’s the guy who says what the hell he feels. And honestly you need that in every locker room but Bron hasn’t always responded well to it. AD loves that type which is why he asked for boogie and rondo back and why he was pissed when New Orleans let them leave as he called what they brought culture.

I think morris has the talent, always has, but he might not handle being benched well. And he shouldn’t be benched if he came because he’s better than Bradley and Green. He also can’t simply slot in Kuz time because the minutes and shots are too damn low and insulting and he will speak on it knowing him especially with his deal up.

I mean and for what it’s worth I can slot Kuz in morris spot in New York and pencil in 23, 5 rebs, and being cheered on. He would walk in and be their best player, better than Randle or RJ easily and have him minutes and shots back with no contest

If this is the trade, watch Pelinka get those Dallas picks off of the Knicks and re-route them for additional pieces.

Kuz wouldn't be here long term anyway. The ownership group is all in over the next couple years and they need vets who will play for less for a shot while going year to year. We will need to replace Bron soon. Davis is a great player but he's not a leader or a guy who can force his will like Bron. They will need every penny they can get to replace Bron in a couple years.

If he doesn't get traded It will be because we couldn't get the deal done.... it won't be for a lack of trying. If not this week by the draft for sure.

Championship teams are usually pretty old... Age doesn't really concern me... It's relative talent.

I don't think we've really seen a full strength Clippers team yet... And the Bucks team we faced is just a monster when they play to their potential... Like they did against us.

So I'm more concerned about getting talent than maintaining youth. This may not be the sexiest move in history, but I think I trust Morris a little more than I trust Kuz to respond against teams that lay a hickory handle upside us and keep the pressure on.
If we could keep Rondo and Bradley, add Morris and have Howard, we'd have 4 guys that can get in guys heads when it gets chippy in the playoffs.

That said, I'm not really holding my breath on this either.

I'm still wondering about a multi-team deal that lands us Triston Thompson... Because Klutch.

Im kind of strangely hoping we pass the deadline without making any trades. Unless it is horton and the other guys intermingling at g league. I want to keep this team intact , i just dont think it is wise to tinker w the chemistry and all in the midst of Kobe's death ; it kind of draws the team closer together and it may be just foolish to trade , im not saying PTSD, but you know, just bad timing now.

I want to just hope in buy out market.
