Hawks Waive Chandler Parsons To Create Roster Spot For Four-Team Trade

The Atlanta Hawks will waive Chandler Parsons to create a roster spot to facilitate the four-team trade involving the Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets.

Parsons is on a $25.1 million expiring contract.

Parsons was in a car accident last month that puts his already tenuous NBA career in jeopardy.

Still wishing Parsons a full recovery, but it’s a shame the Hawks have to let that money go.

An expiring contract of that size would of been nice trade fodder.

I'm surprised they didn't try to flip the contract to some assets.

I’m not sure they were allowed to considering his injuries. I know it’s just moving money around, but the fact that he has head trauma, etc., may have prevented the Hawks from moving his contract.
