Re: 2020 NBA Draft prospects
I definitely agree that Anthony is the best PG option at the top of the draft. Not sure that's saying much though.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft prospects
I have watched some tapes regarding Anthony and I agree that he is the best PG option for us and maybe could even be in our range of selection.
In particular I really like his energy. it is something that we are really lacking.

Anthony and green would be a good draft for us( if wolves get another frp) both very high energy guys that hopefully will be good shooters.

If the wolves get the 1 pick. Do they take Anthony and run with it, or do you hope someone else falls in love with a player (say wiseman or edwards) and the wolves trade down a few spots and collect a few asset ala Mavs Hawks a couple years ago?
I think wolves should just keep it and take Anthony and go from there.

No, you trade down.
Cole isn't even in consideration for the 1st pick, nor should he be. But if he's your guy you have to at least explore trading down. Even if it's just a 2nd rounder, it's much better than just getting Cole on his own.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft prospects
As of now assuming Brooklyn holds on to their playoff spot we are looking at having a top 6 pick our own and a pick in the 15-18 range the Nets. Unless Culver or Beasley become actual point guards we are a team without one. One of the picks needs to be a PG and the other probably needs to be a PF.

This guy gets more interesting with the addition of the Brooklyn pick...

He's got the movement skills to where he could play the PF here on both sides of the court in our system. He's a junior, but young for his class at 20 years old. Only three months older than freshman Precious Achiuwa and 15 months younger than junior Obi Toppin.
Currently 16th on Tankathon

The team also needs a small forward. Layman should return at some point, but he's never proven himself to be more than a streaky offensive player so it's hard to have much confidence in him locking the position down.

As of now Wiggins and Culver are the SFs.

I suppose you could play them there, but they are both desperately undersized for the position. They've tried to play Wiggins there before and he's struggled, I don't see why they'd want to repeat that experiment. Well, we'll have to see what they choose to do.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft prospects
Of all years we decide to tank, it has to be during the weakest draft in recent memory. Besides James Wiseman, It's mind boggling how weak the college freshman class is. Usually there are a few guys that stand out as blue chippers. Not this year.
The only guys I have much interest in drafting are James Wiseman, Tyrese Halliburton, and Obi Toppin. Maybe Killian Hayes.

Avdija scares me. I was all in on Bender and while I know they're different I'm just wary of getting excited about a skinny Euro.

Speaking of internationals, just came across this name on Tankathon for the first time.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft prospects
With Roco gone & seemingly only a matter of time before Wiggs is moved. This is a guy that really intrigues me as well....another wing that needs to improve his 3 pt shot, but off small sample size--eye test gives me Jaylen Brown feel about his game...someone more athletic to pair with potentially guys like Beasley or Culver as well?minimus wrote:Klomp wrote:I don't really want to draft another player in this same mold, but I just have a gut feeling that Isaac Okoro is going to be that guy 5-10 years from now who has developed into a star and teams are going to be kicking themselves for passing on him.
I have no problem in drafting another wing if he has star potential.

This draft is about Wiseman or bust.
All the other American prospects are crap.
Maledon is #2 on my list.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft prospects
I like wiseman, hayes, haliburton or Anthony for the wolves own pick, I think all could end up being better than dlo in four years so hope wolves keep it.
For the nets pick I like green, okoro, toppin or maledon, one could be steal of the draft.

Hayes?
May be worth it but too turnover prone.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
