Every time he talks about being at the 3pt line to create space for others, he uses the word "sacrifice". Clearly, he would prefer to be closer to the basket and not getting triple teamed while his teammates can't knock down catch and shoot 3s.
Clearly, he would like his PG to take pull up jump shots rather than drive into traffic.
Clearly, he would like his PF and SF to not BOTH float into the paint or try to post up endlessly throughout games.
Clearly, he is correct that standing at the 3pt line is a sacrifice to his overall dominance.
He's doing it because he feels he HAS to in order to try to win games, not because he wants to so others feel more comfortable.
These quotes are so painfully obvious that Joel doesn't see himself fitting with Al and Ben.
That is biased.
He did adjust even if he doesnt like it, something that every other player of his caliber wouldnt do. Generally it is the lesser players that adjust to the better player not the opposite. Meanwhile there are players on the team that are still doing what they want.
