It will not cost more than one first and fillers probably.

Butler was a great get. 36 year-old Iguodala for 23 year-old Winslow (at more $$) I'm not so sure about being a major coup. Also, are there other pieces or picks in that deal or is not disclosed yet as they work on the Gallinari trade with OKC?

As for the Gallinari portion, I'm not sure what Miami can offer OKC that they'd want aside from relaxing the protections on their pick. James Johnson at ~$16M next season? Waiters at ~$13M next season? KO at ~$13.5M next season? I guess you could bundle one of those 3 guys with Meyers Leonard who is at least expiring for him, but OKC already has Steven Adams, Nerlens Noel and Muscala... If anything OKC seems to need wings, which Miami doesn't really have unless they want to dip into Herro/Nunn/Duncan.

Who says no? We get immediate help while staying young & Detroit gets the bigger projects, fitting each team's timeline a little better. Obviously the 1sts to sweeten the deal.

I am not sure that is the deal imo.

Poirier, Edwards, Memphis pick, Bucks pick
for
Kennard and Wood

I just don't think Detroit bites on that. We'd be acquiring two really solid young players with some upside. The Memphis pick isn't what it used to be & Poirier/Edwards are non-factors.

yeah, might be a little light. Dont think both Romeo and Robert need included though

Meh. That's a huge overpay for Kennard and Wood.

Langford and the two late firsts for John Collins. Atlanta must be listening to offers for Collins after trading for Capela and Dedmon.
Collins sucks defensively but he can score.

Who knows. C's definitely are high on RW3. If he's excluded, it would probably be Poirier included for salary purposes. Not sure if Detroit wants that though.

Ainge would tell you that he has guys in the rotation making less than the minimum he loves giving those long limited guarantee deals. The contracts aren't what is limiting him it is that the guys he would be getting are limited upgrades and with even more limited upside.

You don't consolidate draft picks at the deadline you do it at the draft. Ainge has this handled I don't think this is an issue. We have gotten to see these young guys in expanded roles and they are putting up wins. I can see why he isn't all that excited to tear up what is going on to trade for castoffs from a team that is putting up nothing but L's.

Yeah, especially as Wood is most likely a rental. Wouldn't trade Romeo straight up for that package.

Why isn’t Luke Kennard being targeted. Is t his price a young asset and a first? Is our 1st just too close to a 2nd for them. If we can keep this guy under contract for the next couple of yes with next year being a player option we could consider the Grizz pick but I’d guess we may wanna hold tight to that for future deal.

I've been wondering the same thing. Can't see them playing Dedmon, Capela and Collins at the same time. Then you've got two guys you just drafted in Hunter and Reddish who can also play the 3/4 along with Huerter/Young/Teague/Bembry at the guard spots. Doesn't really make a ton of sense.

People want to make moves but no one wants to give up anything of value. Acquiring guys like Kennard or Wood is not the same as what the 76ers just acquired in Burks and Robinson.

Acquiring Kennard is giving up the Memphis pick which looks to be just outside the lottery. Would absolutely make that trade.

If Detroit keeps all players mentioned in last days :) man...what is their management doing.

On potential matchup against Miami: Jimmy Butler has won ONE out of his last 10 meetings against the Celtics. Papa Smarf is his daddy.

I'm calling it now. Ainge is going to end up trading for Isaiah Thomas just to save face and spread some goodwill. That's my prediction.

Me too. I think it would probably take moving Langford as well. It is risky but Kennard is a really good player already and fits the Jays & Smart timeline. I can't help but think about Smart and Kennard as our two guards off the bench for the foreseeable future.
