I’ll be honest, I have no idea how this will go. So I’m not upset or ecstatic about the hire. Although I do like Wes a lot. I’m going to wait and see how this plays out. Of course always rooting for the best.

If he was trying everything he would have waited until the offseason to get a reputable executive like Sam Presti. This is another Hacky attempt at hiring his friends to powerful positions.

Presti could still be the experienced GM they are talking about bringing over. Remember the president is in charge of putting the organizational pieces together. It doesn't hurt having 2 guys in Rose and Wes who know just about everyone in this league.

0% chance a guy like Presti is coming here to take orders from a novice president. It will likely be someone like a Scott Perry. Maybe some old foagie like Joe Dumars or something.

yeah...im sticking to my original position...when we traded KP last January that was the turning point for our franchise...I believe this year was a rough patch but to me this feels like we moved up a couple of grades to our destination...

I guess you know Presti personally? Guys come here to have free reign and an open check book. That is the draw of a big market team for a GM. If the money is right these guys will come here.

Another disastrous hire, counting on relationships to chase free agency pipedreams rather than forward-thinking, analytics-trusting basketball minds.

The ties to Mark Jackson and Tom Thibodeau have me worried. We’re the slow kid in class, and it doesn’t appear that’s going to change.

Also making this move less than 24 hours before the trade deadline is absurd.

Deeeez Knicks wrote:Dolan must have been really pissed we didn’t sign anyone. Always thought it was fake that we didn’t want Kyrie and Durant.

The problem with signing players was never who our GM/President was. It was the moves they made and position they set up the team as. We need to worry about making savy moves and set the team up more then trying to swing for grand slams when nobody is even on base.

Yeah, talk about our own confirmation bias.

We thought Mills got let go because "He was going to trade all teh assets!"

He really got let go because Dolan got shamed over crowing for stars on TV; Mills was doomed from moment Durant & Kyrie didn't sign and team sucked with other FA's.

It confirms Randle was a "panic move" to appease Dolan, and not "young guy who could be part of the core!"

And I know it was stated by others, and I JOKED about it, but said "maybe Mills is being fired for not being aggressive ENOUGH in trading for DLo etc"

Maybe that was in fact the case; Dolan wants a splash.

Or, Dolan was embarrassed off season and then again with the chants at MSG and panicked.

But it's funny that it's probably not "Oh noes, Mills is trading assets"
I was guilty of it as was most everyone.

Are you being serious?

Sam Presti is the President of his team. He has full autonomy. He won’t have that here. Hell, Leon Rose won’t even have that here.

I know it’s commonplace for you to support all the Knicks moves so I’ll just agree to disagree.
