I love that the latest rumors link us to Detroit. I've said a million times, DRose just makes WAY too much sense for both sides. Wood would be nice rw3 insurance ...kennard would help too. Detroit is going nowhere and Drummond is leaving. Give us 1,2 or all 3, we'll pay for them. We did help to gift them Sheed who was the missing piece to a title!!

I do find it odd that Atlanta is acquiring all these big men. Not saying Skal is some great player, but add him with Dedmon and Capela, that is now a crowded big man rotation. Maybe there is something with John Collins!

There are a few 2nd-round picks who hit really big, like Jokic or Marc Gasol (who was a key trade piece for the team that first drafted him). Ainge hasn't had one of those. But BBD, Powe, Semi and so on give him a decent 2nd-round track record even so.
I do agree that those successes haven't been all that important ... and by the way, Ainge has been pretty free to trade his 2nd-round picks away.
That is one of the worst track records in the league, he got that in over 15 years, and it's not like asking to get an all-star with second rounds, just good bench players, or to get a starter in over 15 years like most teams do.
I'd be interested in seeing the math that shows Ainge's 2nd round track record is appreciably worse than anyone else's, outside the small handful of teams that struck gold.

You probably saw "Cave". I meant, Caveman's argument that any team can get space when needed.

If I counted correctly, Ainge has made 24 first-round picks and 24 second-round ones.
(Either figure could be slightly off; I didn't recheck.)
And players he has traded for without giving up much in the way of talent he drafted include Ray Allen and Kyrie Irving (but not KG, who required one of Ainge's good draftees in trade, or more than one if you include 2nd-round fringe starter Gomes).

D-Rose probably isn't happening but I'd be beyond ecstatic.

That site is full of it.
I am following the Hawks forum at Hawk Squawk and they have an apparently insider who has leaked some of the earlier trade details for Hawks' trades.
Not once has he mentioned recently that the Hawks and Celtics are talking about Collins.

I'm headed into a meeting. I can't wait to come out and see the NBA has ended.

I like trades from the conversation standpoint but honestly our team is well constructed its not some huge deal if we stand pat. Last year was the year I really wanted a deal

Re: The Trade Thread #4: The Fun is Coming to an End.
I would trade both 1st round picks for Bertrans (not including memphis pick). That Milwaukee pick is essentially a second round pick being so late. Sometimes you have to take risks, if it doesn’t work out you move on.
