Nah, we do need improvements, our bench sucks and I'd love to have a better big.

Our bench sucks when two to three starter-level players are hurt. When healthy, the bench is mostly fine in what will ultimately be a tight 8-9 man playoff rotation.

I agree. I actually don't think our depth is as bad as some say. We've looked pretty cohesive when we've tightened the rotation, which we will certainly do in the playoffs.

That's why I'm less interested in adding depth, and more in upgrading depth. Like, instead of adding a depth piece and only sending out someone not playing like Poirier, I would seek to upgrade a Wanamaker or the backup PF slot.

I wouldn't want to send out a first for the former kind of deal, only the latter kind.

Bertans would hold bird rights so you could sign him to pretty much any number, right? So we could technically agree an under the table type contract for this summer?

Unseasoned fans, or short term memories. Not long ago, Ainge's nickname was "Trader Danny".

Poirier and Ojeyeye + MIl 1st for Bertans would be fair and works money wise then sign Tacko to last spot

L Markannen wants out fo chicago.. Wonder if we can get him on the cheap for expirings and picks. Something like V. Poirier, J. Green + Mem/Bos picks.. I assume Chi would want the Mem pick as the main piece for moving their big

You’d trade two firsts for a guy with a 114 defensive rating who we wouldn’t resign?

Are those picks really that valuable? I mean what else are we going to do with them?

Is he "Trader Danny"?
Or "Stand Pat" Ainge?

His birthday is on St. Patrick's Day. IJS
Let's Argue!!!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Ainge#Boston_Celtics_Executive
In 2003, he was hired as the Executive Director of Basketball Operations for the Celtics. Ainge has often been controversial in his role as a Celtics executive, trading popular players such as three-time All-Star Antoine Walker (earning himself the nickname "Trader Danny")...

Oh well, I guess you gotta go through all the second round picks who've hit and make a percentage list, and also a definition of when you really hit. Unless you've done that you're just talking with your anti DA-goggles on.

Ask and ye shall receive.

This is Ainge's entire draft history.

My methodology removes players we drafted for another team as part of an already agreed upon trade, and includes players another team drafted for us as part of an already agreed upon trade. (This leads to some strange cases like excluding Jeff Green, since we drafted him for Seattle, even though we clearly also liked him as well, since I can't know for sure if he was actually going to be our guy at #5. But every method has flaws and I think this is the least flawed.)

Thanks for the work but I actually meant comparing his hits for all the other GM's by listing their picks etc. You can start with that now and be ready for the next deadline so you can back me up with some r34l data.

In my own doc I have each of these picks rated as to whether I think they outperformed, met, or underperformed their draft slot. I removed my own personal ratings so others could do the analysis themselves if they liked.

I think Ainge is looking at the following,

Bertrans/IT
Wood/Rose

Collins and Markennen are fun but I don't think he's zoned in on either of those guys right now. I think his calls are to Washington with Detroit on hold.

I'll be fine with either deal. I'll be happy with either deal.

Bertrans is a 4 months rental. IT is not a good fit here.
Rose would be great, Wood just hate to play defense.
