Protection aside, Minny has a good chance of putting together a decent team next year. Wouldn't be surprised if they make the playoffs.

They have DLo, Beasley, Okogie, Culver, Layman, Juancho, KAT, Dieng.

They can open up a max slot in the off-season.

I feel like Minnesota is in the "I'll believe it when I see it" zone after the last, I don't know, thirty years.

I don't think they'll make the playoffs but they don't have to. Even if they finish like 10th worst, that pick loses a ton of value.

The Warriors swapped one losing player for another and got a few good picks out of it. That's a win for team Light Years.

It's a good move for minnesota, especially taking into account that wiggins is regressing and isn't playing like in the beginning of the season.

Wiggins is one of the reasons the Timberwolves were losing...The Warriors are also a worse defensive team than the Timberwolves.

Maybe they're higher on Wiggins but what exactly has he shown to inspire confidence?

Wiggins doesn't have to be an alpha on GSW, it will be Steph and Klay. Wiggins has to hustle on both ends and be a transition and secondary scorer for them, whereas DLO overlapped with Steph and Klay. If they can get Wiggins head right on this, I think it could work out well for them. They weren't going to be FA market players anyway, so Wiggins' contract is less of a detriment here. In that sense it's good fit trade.

Wiggins is going to like it behind Steph and Klay?

He hated being 3rd wheel behind KAT and Jimmy

Great deal for the Warriors, so many draft picks. Russel is not a winner by any metric and building a team around KAT is not possible (he's a big man in the modern NBA). Warriors can get the most out of Wiggins, maybe.

If Wiggins didn't like Butler, just wait for the roasting he's getting from Green who has just covered his ass for the 15th time that game...

This doesn't end well.

The Warriors FO have been horrific for the past 18 months.

Bad trade for GSW . Great trade for Wolves. They finally got Towns little bestie to come along. But why in the world would Warriors take on Wiggins and his contract? They should of just went after Covington and a pick instead. Wow this makes no sense.

From a Minnesota fan, is KAT/Russell the next KG/Marbury (admittedly there is no KG-like talent in the former)? Probably will be some glimmers of success for the new duo but I can't see DLo actually liking it in MN long term. He did get paid already though unlike Marbury, we will see.

Wiggins will have a parted sea to display his strengths.

I don't think he would have gripes being a 3rd option behind HOFers.

Might be a pretty decent return for the Dubs, hasn’t Wiggins improved a bit?

Dlo was traded to Dubs

Couldn’t he have done a sign and trade to Minnie?
I dont know why he didn't take control over his own destiny. iirc he did a s&t to get all his money

Wiggins has been the 3rd option before. It resulted in the Timberwolves barely making the 8th seed.

Ok. I get it. Wiggins had to go. Russell COULD maybe work with Towns. And they like each other. So... cool. Make the trade.

But why make this trade AND the Covington trade?

Covington seems like a great fit next to a ball-dominant PG and a ball-dominant C who don't play defense. He was willing to play D... without demanding the ball.

I think this is an awesome deal for the Warriors since they don't care about what their team budget looks like next year. They were already gonna be over the cap anyways so why does it matter to anyone here how much over the cap they are if they owner is willing?

Wiggins will easily fill the role of Barnes. They now have 2 amazing picks (their own this year and Minny's next year) to get a PF/C to complete their roster. The whole world knew that a Curry/Russell backcourt could never work. They would get eaten alive defensively. The reason why the Warriors have been great is because they have been a top notch offensive AND defensive team.
Rockets should take notes...

Curry
Klay
Wiggins
Green
MLE or draft picks

Add in a player like Ibaka and they are THE FAVOURITES to win next year.

Thank you BASED DOLAN! I was terrified the idiots running the Knicks were going to give up their first for this chucker.

Wiggins sucks on defense, there's that.
Also, his contract is terrible, they should at least asked for another frp from Minnie if not two.
