I watched the TWolves game last night and Wiggins was okay on offense, but absolutely horrible on defense. He looked like of low b-ball IQ. That said, he may do better with Warriors open floor and faster paced offense since TWolves are slower. We had Marquese Chriss, Alec Burks, and Glenn Robinson III all have had career years so far.

This also gets GSW out of luxury taxes and dumps Jacob Evans who was slated to be backup PG next year, but wasn't progressing. The key tho was the 2021 draft picks as high schoolers will be allowed to come out and that will add more quality picks to the pool.

I really like this for Golden State.

I think Russell is pretty overhyped. Minnesota is still a trainwreck so that first looks pretty nice. Maybe they can rebuild Wiggins value by getting him outside of Minnesota.

Either way they have two nice picks to improve their roster as Curry and Thompson returns next year.

Minnesota got fleeced on this deal. DLO for Wiggins straight up and you might be able to say that Minny came out slightly ahead but adding the first round and second round picks, that's a huge win for GSW.

I like this trade for the Warriors. They weren't going to get anything better for Russell, and Wiggins fit much better with Steph and Klay.

Also, playing next to Steph and Klay might be a breakout situation for Wiggins. He'll have all the spacing he wants. A culture change from a losing Minny to winning Warriors will be a plus as well.

Russell and Wiggins have very similar contracts too.

Plus they got picks...

Light years!

Weird people trying to rationalise this. Wiggins sucks and his contract is terrible.

This deal is terrible for Golden State. It really is over for them.

not bad

Considering Durant was walking anyway, you managed to turn the situation into some solid picks. Don't have much hope for Harrison Wiggins, i'm afraid, but D'Lo Ellis wasn't going to work out either, so it's whatever.

Since the Warriors probably still intend to compete with their original core of Steph/Klay/Dray, they have just flipped D'Lo into more bargaining chips for future trade possibilities by getting those picks. The move now is using the picks (and potentially Wiggins too) to get something better in return that will help them compete for the title. At least that's how i see it. Makes no sense for a team like the Warriors to make use of draft picks, they are not in rebuild mode.

The Wolves on the other hand... Desperation moves to buy them more time with Towns. You saw it coming. They needed to do drastically shake up their roster just to not be completely horrible and dysfunctional. Now they can potentially be mediocre. Great. What's next?

Wiggins will easily fill the role of Barnes. They now have 2 amazing picks (their own this year and Minny's next year) to get a PF/C to complete their roster. The whole world knew that a Curry/Russell backcourt could never work. They would get eaten alive defensively. The reason why the Warriors have been great is because they have been a top notch offensive AND defensive team.
Rockets should take notes...

Curry
Klay
Wiggins
Green
MLE or draft picks

Add in a player like Ibaka and they are THE FAVOURITES to win next year.
Wiggins sucks on defense, there's that.
Also, his contract is terrible, they should at least asked for another frp from Minnie if not two.

He might suck on defense when the team is requiring him to score 20+ per game. When he will be asked to score 15PPG, I'm sure he will be able to expend more energy on the defensive end. All he has to do is fill the role of being a more expensive Barnes, who wasn't an All NBA defensive type anyways.

Actually, I think this will work out well for GS and terrible for Minnesota.

Awful trade for Minnesota. Trading for a no defense playing chucker to go with a disgruntled superstar who already has to be begged to try hard on defense. So he'll have his club buddy for another year and a half and when they still suck and don't make the playoffs he'll still want out.

So they are saying it's top 3 protected? Wolves are #5 right now in the tank race. The 4th - 6th pick has so much more value than MeAngelo Russel on that deal. This is an insane haul for GSW.

Think about this, they have a chance if the ping pong balls cooperate to have traded a one legged corpse of Kevin Durant for the #4 pick in the draft and the Wiggins project. PLUS by enacting the tank with MeAngelo leading the brigade have their own possibly #1 pick this year. Just insane how quickly they can reload.

Good trade and an upgrade for Minneapolis. Dlo and KAT will form a very interesting duo, I like it.

Should of done that with Russell then who is a better player

Has Russel ever played on any team that has won anything? Even a team that's won 30 games? There's a bit of emptiness to that as well.

This is shaping up to be another disaster for the Wolves. They pulled the trigger because of the Knicks hiring Rose.

Myers has lost it. Could have gotten much better return. Hell, trading for Covington would have made more sense then (which would have been terrible too).

Hmmm I never thought of it that way and I just learned about the pick protection. Warriors can very well be loaded next year with 2 top 10 picks coming along with their stars coming back. But taking on Wiggins and his contract is alot,

For the Wolves, this buys them time . I think this is all to keep Towns happy and I think it should for at least another year like you said. Still won't be good but whatever.

Might be a pretty decent return for the Dubs, hasn’t Wiggins improved a bit?

Dlo was traded to Dubs

Couldn’t he have done a sign and trade to Minnie?

Brooklyn wouldn't have wanted whatever trash contracts Minnie would have needed to trade to make that work.

If its a bad trade for both teams, does that make it a good trade?
