Lakers have no chance to beat the Clippers with Marcus Morris now

Post#1 » by wfiles » Thu Feb 6, 2020 7:24 pm

All because they didn't want to give up that overrated Kuzma. I'd say Clippers easily in 5 over the Lakers.

I actually don't think the marginal improvement from Harkless significantly changes the Clippers chances against the Lakers. They were already high.

1) the Clippers didn’t need Morris to beat LAL
2) the Lakers would’ve had to give up Kuzma, Green, and more, for Morris—which would’ve been a bad deal.

When you have Lebron, it's hard to say "no chance" but they have a very slim chance after this.

Morris provides excellent spacing and scoring for the Clippers if he can keep shooting 3s like that.

Zero chance. None.

After the big 4, Clippers have the 5 next best players.

I'm not even sure the Lakers can beat the Clippers once, let alone in a 7-game series.

I feel like the Clippers chances just dropped vs Lakers.

They slightly increase there chances if all goes well but increased their chances it could implode by much more.

I think it's riskier as they were already likely to beat Lakers. If anything they risk losing to the Lakers but probably improve against Jazz/Nuggets/Bucks/76ers

I don’t know about no chance but Morris is one of the few guys who you can leave on an island with Lebron and not have to panic. Clips now have 3 reliable guys they can throw at Lebron for 48 min, or drop that to 2 and let Kawhi save his energy for the offensive end. This doesn’t bode great for the Lakers.

Another guy who doesn't get that it isn't just about Morris for Kuzma...

Maybe, but this locker room also has the "dogs" to reel him in you'd hope. He eats guys in NY alive because it's a young locker room. I'd imagine on a team with Pat, Kawhi, Doc, Trez it will be a little more of a mutual respect. Never know though, it IS a risk obviously. What I'm more impressed with is the Clippers upgraded without losing anyone out of their rotation besides Harkless.

It's obviously not no chance, but they're going to struggle against not only the Clippers but teams like Utah and Denver too. Standing pat wasn't smart.

Clippers now have FIVE 19+ ppg guys on the team. I hope this isn't it though.

Morris is not that good. He’s just a solid role player that’s putting up good numbers on a bad team.

Morris is one of the best shooters in the NBA and can play the 3 or 4. has the strength to guard Davis and lebron on switches.

The biggest value from the Clippers getting Marcus Morris is keeping him from going to the Lakers. He would've been a huge upgrade over Kuzma on the Lakers. Of course, it would cost more than Kuzma, and at that point it wouldn't be worth it.

What is the deal with him this year, 44% is way above his career 3PA%? Whatever it is I hope he can keep it up.
