***The Andrew Wiggins Appreciation Thread***
We traded for Wiggins in 2014 while he was just 19 years old. From that day he took on a huge responsibility, being a go to scorer for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He did pretty darn well in his rookie season, averaging about 17 PPG and showed the kind of promise that had NBA franchises drooling.
With devastating dunks, quick speed, and damn near immeasurable athleticism, it was no surprise some people labeled him the Maple Jordan. Unfortunately, Wiggins could not manage to live up to the hype and promise of his early projections and he has struggled to find his game in recent years.
Today we traded Andrew Wiggins, he is no longer a Timberwolf. That said, he gave us 6 years and played damn near every game of those 6 years. Although there was a lot of a disappointment there were a lot of good times as well. All the amazing Wiggins dunks, the handful of clutch shots, those early yeas when he went to battle with some of the games best.
This thread is an appreciation for Wiggins the basketball player and person. He was a big part of this franchise for many years, he was a good dude, and he was our guy.
Thank you Andrew for suiting up nearly every night and for being good to the community.

Always, always represented off the court. Never a distraction, never a negative role model. Wish it would have turned out differently as he is the type of person you want to see do well.

weren't there stories about him hating the 3rd wheel behind Jimmy and KAT?

Good guy off the court. But he wasted a lot of my time on the court.

A genuinely good guy who almost never complained publically despite being on some of the worst teams we've ever had and being (at times) an unfair target for criticism. Thank you for upping your game this year and I hope you get the chance to win a championship before you retire.

Wiggins is a good dude. Showed flashes of being a star...even this season, he looked unleashed and so clutch, then he missed games for personal reasons and never quite got it back together.
I wanted him to be great so bad, he just doesn't have the heart..maybe Golden State and playing with HOFers will help him, good luck though Wiggs

It would have been amazing if he did break out and could have kept up that early season play. I was really happy for him and his teammates were too. Everyone wanted him to succeed, if somehow he does blow up, good for him. He still has a lot of people cheering for him.

LOL Smitch is still singing Wiggins praises, he's glowing saying GS got a steal. Got to love the support!

This would be a red flag for me if I was GS.

I will say that off the court he seemed fine and there were never any complaints from teammates. It's sad that being a decent human being needs to be highlighted and congratulated but that's the league and society at large I guess.
On the court he obviously has the talent, just not the drive. Could have been something special and I wish him the best. Just preferably not for the Warriors.

5 years with the Wolves for Wiggins.
Wiggins has scored a lot of points and he is in the lists of the all time leaders in many categories for the Wolves.
Second in total pojnts, first in 3points etc. He is part of Wolves history in a difficult period.
Together with him it is time for me to leave this board. Happy to discuss with all of you, you are a good company.
I will read you and wish you the best

He will have a nice career, especially, once he gets in with the right leadership ... he has stayed healthy, has obvious skill, and someone may be able to push the right buttons - or even the trade itself could get his attention. I wish him the best.

Because I became a Timberwolves fan because of Wiggins. I am not American and I root for players not teams. However, I became a fan of the Wolves with the years. I will root for the Wolves but I think more for the Warriors now.
And I have to say that I have a Wolves Jersey 22 that I will continue to wear
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
