Shabazz Napier

Post#1 » by NuggetsWY » Wed Feb 5, 2020 4:41 pm

Napier is a solid, traditional point guard. His play is based on setting up other players and taking shots when necessary. He plays defense but like many small guards and big centers, switches on picks can require teammates to help him cover - not that he is afraid to try and cover anyone. He doesn't specialize in spectacular plays and he doesn't make a lot of mistakes and he's not a bit time scorer, but if his opponent doesn't respect him and cover him, he's capable of a big night.

He's a decent backup pg and a plus in the locker room.

I've heard this trade was to set up for another trade (Jrue makes sense now), this part could free up Monte Morris as a trade asset.

That's exactly what I think. Why would you give Napier minutes at the expense of Morris minutes?

Don't get me started. No, no trade makes sense if it would mean replacing 40% 3pt shooter with 6:1 ass/TO ratio with Napier.

Wanna great analogy? Even if we've brought in Jrue and he played really good, this would be just as it is with my new sofa. Bought really expensive, nice, comfortable, L-sized sofa to my livingroom. It is so big it occupies most of the room so we had to move some furniture and such outside the living room. Now sitting is really nice, every visitor congratulates me. But I don't have anything to look at anymore! I need to have my favourite things around me and now I can't, it's somewhere else. This is what you'll get in trade involving Monte.

Surprised, McRae is really nothing more than a scorer, he can't defend a couch....didn't even get a pick out of it. Not the followup trade I was expecting TBH
