I'd have liked to add a sharpshooter for the bench, but I really like our team this year, and they have been a pleasure to watch. The downside to not making a move, imo, is having 4 draft picks when we won't be able to roster them, not to mention, we really don't want to get younger anyway. Not looking forward to more Yabs/Zizic scenarios, guys who can't play, but we draft them because they're willing to remain overseas.

Water under the bridge for now, though. Still a really fun and likable team for this year.

pathetic performance by the front office this season imo.

No future planning at all, no planning for now at all. Organization is apparently content with not winning a championship this year or being a legit threat. Sure 1-4 we are competetive, but 5-15 we cannot score, are generally handicapped with physical limitations and half of the top 4 players are injury prone.

But at least we have 3 more draft picks in the first round to add to the 15+2 member roster already here.

Guess we say goodby to Kanter, goodbye to Green, Goodbye to Semi, Goodbye to wannamaker in the offseason and replace them with a lle player and 3 more rookies.

2020-2021 lineup

Kemba/edwards/Rookie
Brown/Smart/Romeo
Hayward/LLE/Rookie
Tatum/GrantW/
Theis/Timelore/Tacko

gross.

Hard to believe he couldn’t find one single shooting/scoring option to help bolster the bench which is currently 28th in PPG. Wanamaker ain’t cutting it in the playoffs getting 15-20 minutes

Not when the dude told me to shut up?

Cool. Later.

For the record, that was not me, just in case you lost track of the thread.

I'm aware and I apologize to you if you truly found that to be out of bounds but comparatively speaking I didnt find it as offensive as the guy who told me to shut up if I didnt like what ainge was doing.

No issues with you. Sorry my man.

I missed the shut up post, sorry. I didn't think yours was horrible, just heading in a bad direction is all. Hence nothing official, and the word please. :) Was trying to be cool about it.

Have patience. 10 years of title contention are right around the corner.

Actually not mad. Last year and the year before were the years to make a splash. Upgrading the bench with bench players doesn't really light my wick

So the next debate for Celtics fans is Javonte Green vs Evan Turner.

Have fun with that one!

Its more that we have 14 guys under contract next season a 3 FRPs. And a 2 that will be 45/46. Gonna end up needing to cut a bunch of previous top 40 picks, a cycle we cant pull ourselves out of.

I think they'll consolidate picks (as part of a deal for a player) or punt them down the road. I don't think we're going down the same path this summer.

Teams not going to trade future picks for picks in this draft, as bad as it is being reported to be. Unless he is trading 1sts and getting back 2nd's. Remember, you can't put a player chosen with a 1st round pick on a two way contract.

Edwards could be an Eddie House type for us, but Brad gotta play his binky Semi.

He’s the backup point guard. I can guarantee he’ll be getting 10+ minutes per game. We saw how a backup PG can turn a series like George Hill did. Wanamaker is useless

This never bothers me as much as it does others. You have to choose between waiving RJ Hunter and James Young and I don't care about that. I'd rather have more swings or more trade currency when we don't have that championship roster.

For the record, we only had to choose between Hunter and Young because we brought Gerald Green in to push them. The only "roster crunch" there was artificial and intentional. Ainge had already seen enough by that point, and made one last attempt to light a fire under them.

This is a pet peeve of mine that I've posted on many times over the years. "Roster crunches" are almost never as bad as people make them out to be. There's usually plenty of moving parts and the FO generally has at least some kind of handle on these things way out in advance.

Honestly, let this sink in.

this offseason
Kanter - will opt out
Semi - will have to be let go
Green - will be gone
brad - will have to go

2 KEY bench members this season gone.

and replaced with

Memphis pick (outside lotto)
Boston pick (20s)
Bucks pick (30)
And a LLE contract.

Bench will be WORSE next season.

Hard for Ainge to make deals now. Everyone knows not to deal with him because they will automatically lose.
