So Jerome Robinson huh? To my knowledge he’s a crappy undersized SG who was drafted way too high .. hopefully he shows flashes because I am not excited about him at all.

And I assume we’re keeping Mahinmi through the season instead of a buyout ? We need him to play legit minutes with TB out ..

Can we trade the #13 + #15 + #25 pick for the #3 pick in that draft? Or even the #4 pick?

100% -- in fact, the only problem is that we could trade it for the #2 pick. & since no one would accept a #3 pick in place of a #2 pick, we'd be forced to go in that direction.

...and some people here said the same thing about Bonga.

My issue with Bonga is that I don't think he will really become a rotation-caliber player until he is off his rookie deal. Basically, he'll never be cheaper than his production. It'll be sort of like Kelly Oubre. You spend the time developing him, but then, when he's finally ready to be productive, you have to pay him a market rate.

Isn't that going to be true of most 19 or 20 year olds drafted late in the second round? It will probably be even moreseo when they start drafting kids straight out of high school again in the next couple of years.

It's just something that ALL teams, and not just the Zards, will have to learn to deal with.

BTW, his D alone has already made Bonga a rotation-caliber player, imo.

Right on all counts, I'd say. In fact... I would extend him for 3-4 years if I could.

It seems like ...Individual rebounding stats at this level are irrelevant (Ben Taylor Thinking Basketball podcast on this is good)....

Are overall team rebounding stats relevant? In what do they consist? Oh...

...Non lottery draft first round picks also seem to be devalued.... Raptors have had no lottery picks and have a lot of young talent for example.

For really good moves Napier is playing well and is far better than IT I'm always open to taking flyers on former first round picks and moving IT is a plus for me! I'm sad about Sanon I really liked the kid. But I'm not overly upset by it , he was a long shot anyway and we have more second round picks. I would have rather moved on from admiral though imo.

So not much action , but I really didn't want them to do much. I like the young guys we have and want to keep these guys and see what we have as they develop.

They DID NOT trade away any of ... Bryant, Hachimura, TBJ, Bonga, Wagner, Matthews, AP, Admiral.

And they kept Bertans. And they kept OUR DRAFT PICKS.

So basically they dealt McRae and Sanon for Napier and Robinson. As far as I can tell, Shabazz is a UFA this offseason.

I mean I like Grant and he's younger but level wise it's about even for him and Napier. Too him a while but he's gotten pretty good. I just hope he doesn't play his way into a sizable contract with us. Interested in seeing how Robinson shoots it with us. Hope he doesn't take time away from Matthews

THE WIZARDS ARE DOING SO, SO VERY WELL! Bravo, Tommy Sheppard.

Napier was the catalyst and floor leader of an NCAA championship team. I liked his play a lot in college.

Likewise, I liked Jerome Robinson a bunch when he was at U Conn. He's only 22, about to be 23 years old. He didn't really have an opportunity to shine with the Clippers. Ithink he's going to blossom on the Wizards the same way that former Laker Thomas Bryant has prospered. Robinson is a baller.

Never understood Jerome Robinson pick at #13. But for $3.7M next year I think a good move by the Wiz, exact type of shots we need to take on potentially undervalued talent.

He was worth the #13, and he's going to make the Wizards look shrewd and better than the Clippers on this deal.

I think all the doomsayers who believed that Beal's unhappiness will lead to a terrible win-now trade can step off the ledge. The team still is firmly looking 2-3 years down the road. They're prioritizing the development of youth rather than winning an extra game or two with vets like McRae.

I'm glad to be able to see this with this team. They're doing a wonderful job building a strong team in the next 2-3 years.

I think in the late loto in a suspect draft is an ok spot to start looking at possible elite shooters which coming out of college that was his potential and he still has potential to be a really good shooter. Shooters are a premium and you can never have too many !

You think 2018 was "a suspect draft?" It was the best draft in I don't know how long! As to "possible elite shooters," have you looked at his shooting? So far this year, he's shot 39% on 2 point attempts, 28.4% on 3 pointers, & under 58% from the FT line.

Listen, I hope Robinson improves -- but... he's going to have to improve A LOT before he gets to the level where you can play him in NBA games you aren't setting out to lose.

I just realized something... we actually got younger today. A fair amount younger. & better too. A bit better, no doubt.

He's been burried behind vets and hasn't been given a real chance to improve or shine. In the g league last year he shot 41 % from the 3 and over all he shot 37 % from three in college. He's was a high 40% guy from the field and an efg% in the 50s at Boston college and the g league. He has the makings of a good shooter. Imo.
