Yeah I think that was the rumor wonder if they'll do more expansion again down the road?

Edit: Disagree though on the Westbrook stuff though. They're paying more for him, and Westbrook's "analytics" have generally been fine historically. There seemed to be a locker room issue there.
Interesting enough, he's actually been quite good for a while now, and I've enjoyed seeing some Houston fans realize he's good (and was way better in the past).
Here's another tidbit that people forgot during the Westbrook-Paul trade: Fertita made it known that if Westbrook didn't waive his 15% trade kicker, the trade would not be allowed to proceed. He isn't Dolan yet, but he's more of a Sarver type who's nothing but a penny pincher. And that's not to mention his shady dealings off the court:

Dude is one shady prick and the whole nepotism crap that he's doing with his kid and how Morey has to report to him is a joke. I wouldn't be surprised if Morey is praying that he's canned or not resigned so that he can go to another team that will let him have freedom to do what he's good at.

I didn't know about the son having such a prominent role. I despise brazen nepotism. One of the Bucks owners gave an idiot son a big front office role. He proceeded post a picture of the Bucks draft board an hour before the draft among other idiotic things. Within a few years they "promoted" him to lead scout so he could go to big time college games with great seats. But at least he was away from the team.Pringles and Morey are clearly on their way out. I think it falls apart after that as he gives his boy more power and PJ and Westbrook age.

Morey is done. He cost not only the rockets money, he costed the entire league money. He won't even get Kaepernick'd will be wiped from the History book. The media will comply in making sure he gets buried.

Personally I think he drives MDA and Morey out, which is a shame. And didn't remember he basically advertised the trade kicker thing, especially since I don't think Westbrook could get it since it would take his pay over the max, so he was just pumping himself up for nothing.
Also since I'm here, the cover of his book:

Idk why the NBA let this “broke” owners to own a team. It’s terrible for the league.
It should have a minimum net worth to bid for a team when they’re selling.
Hope Daryl Morey leaves the team after this season. Why does he have to sacrifice his career for the NBA, Houston, and China

If this guy is as greasy and terrible as you say he is, be careful. You could get a defamation lawsuit on your hands, lol.

Re: Allow me to speak on Tillman Fertita
Wow, refreshing, informative post by OP.
It's interesting seeing that they probably had enough assets to get Roco alone and downgrade on Capela, but they found Bargin bin replacements.
Worrying signs, understand not wanting to take a repeater tax if your not competitive like the warriors with their sell off, but the rockets should of been looking at ways to get out of the west.

Re: Allow me to speak on Tillman Fertita
I think what I dislike most about Fertitta is his blatant lying about avoiding the luxury tax. It's happened multiple times over the last two years, he gets very angry whenever someone brings it up. Yet magically they end up under it every year. What happened to this report from 3 days ago?
Oh, and somehow the Rockets got under the tax again at the last minute at the trade deadline this year, when they should be going all-in during Harden's prime. Fertitta is cheap and a liar.

So Morey has to answer to Fertita's son who is probably the real-life version of this character:

Re: Allow me to speak on Tillman Fertita
I think most NBA owners are probably undesirable humans. This guy certainly screams egomaniac.
Having said that, I'm not sure it's fair or accurate to just reduce Morey's character to "basketball nerd" and give him amoral qualities at best. A nerd can be a POS, too, right? He's coming off without fault here, but we know he's had his share of unsavoury battles prior to Alexander selling the team.
As for the out of character moves he made, to me the risk he took to build his 65 win team was in giving Ryan Anderson a huge contract and then agreeing to that unsavoury gentleman's agreement with CP3, which led to the exodus of picks. He decided to shoot his shot and challenge one of the greatest dynasties the NBA has ever seen, which is admirable, but you can't blame the new owner for the clean-up of a nice party. The OP is admonishing Fertita for giving the thumbs up to a trade that the Rocket's FO presented him. It was their idea, he just accepted the risk. He's being killed for being cheap (i.e. not doing everything in his power to win a title) and for paying a steep price for Westbrook.
Ultimately, Morey chose to extend with him. He accepted the situation.
