Re: Around the NBA (Non-Celtics) 2019-2020 Part II
This Lakers team..lol I understand the LBJ and Davis factor but this is easily one of the most overrated teams ever assembled. The drop off after the top 2 guys is the size of the moon. Kuzma can't even crack the starting line up over Avery Bradley.
Houston's idea of a 5 out offense is going to be a pain. Not many will be able to match it, few will be able to exploit it and I see them as a lot more dangerous than the Lakers. As long as they stay away from Jokic I think they have a decent shot at the finals.

Yeah i'm intrigued to see how Houston fares with their small ball 5 out offense. Defensively they should be ok. I will say this, the traditional big man is dying out fast.

AD is great, but yeah, Giannis just has a dog in him that AD doesn't. Giannis was angry tonight and he really wanted to kick Philly's ass. The Bucks were down 5 points at one point in the 1st quarter and he was pissed lol

It's not really true, bigs aren't dying, the only reason there are some smaller players playing the C position it's because they can defend most Cs in a certain style (fast pace with high intensity to tire them) using tools to compensate their smaller size, tucker is 6-5 but has good length, strength and jump ability. It's not like you can use just random midgets. For example Theis is rather taller than him but have similar problems because he isn't as strong and athletic as Tucker. The same happens with Grant, we could play him more consistently as bench C like rockets with Tucker if he had a good wingspan and decent athleticism like Tucker but he doesn't have those physical tools, that is the reason he always will be a bench role player.

It's a better fit too, AD can play as 4-5 like horford but Giannis is a two way beast that can help the C like a KG, and he is a decent playmaker that can help to compensate the fact that both brown and tatum are scorers that aren't even average as playmakers.

Not possible to open up cap space unless we trade Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart next season without salary coming back or it's an expiring. Gordo deffo gone.
So it's Brown/Tatum/Giannis/Langford/Williams twins/Edwards/our picks the next two drafts.
That lineup is not attractive to the Greek Freak imo.

We would need to make a S&T to get him, basically smart + re-signed hayward or the player who got trading hayward + assets, in that way we can keep kemba or use him in another trade to get assets.

Yep, due to our salary situation the next couple of years, S&T is the only feasible way without gutting the roster. Giannis would have to really want to leave Milwaukee and would have to really like what we have in Boston. One way to make that happen is to beat him in the ECF this season. And if he still doesn't ask for a trade this offseason, beat him again in the playoffs next season hehe.

Giannis completely destroyed the 76ers last night and they have Embiid and Horford clogging the middle. I guess a big front court is overrated now?

They're all overrated.
Kemba-Brown-Hayward-Tatum-Theis starting lineup is undefeated in the NBA Finals.

Re: Around the NBA (Non-Celtics) 2019-2020 Part II
The only teams that really improved significantly for the playoffs were the Clippers by getting Morris and the Hawks by getting Dedmon and Capella. I feel like the Rockets are better able to compete with Clippers wings with PJ and Covington but are still a 50 win team. The Heat got reliable Jags to replace inconsistent or injured ones. Unfortunately, their schedule is brutal for next 10 games and they are going to take a hit in standings. Not sure the trade really changes their win total much. The Sixers improved their 3 pt shooting a little and Burks is definitely an upgrade but he doesn’t actually fix what is wrong with that team. I really like what the Hawks accomplished but the Warriors are the real winners here. They preserved their max salary slot by signing DLo and flipped him for Wiggins and a probable lottery pick in 2021. Consider by comparison how we lost a lottery pick to rent Kyrie and then had to shed Rozier, Horford, Morris and Baynes to replace him.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

off the top of my head couldn’t we keep Brown and Smart (about 40 mil), keep a cap hold for Tatum (15-20) and sign Giannis. Then once Giannis is signed go over the cap to extend Tatum. Fully aware we would need to dump Kemba and Hayward to make it happen but thought we could keep Smart. If Giannis forms a super team outside of Milwaukee it doesn’t matter what other moves the Celtics make.

Really? First, the Hawks won't be in the playoffs. They would have to go 27-3 in their remaining 30 games just to get to .500. As for Marcus Morris, haven't we seen his act before? He's a gunner without a conscience who rarely passes the ball, and on defense he's a faux tough guy.

I’ve heard Toronto has interest in Giannis but not that Giannis has interest in Toronto. Where’s this coming from?
As good as Milwaukee is they have no true second star. Put a guy like Siakim next to Giannis and we’re looking at another Miami Heat / Durant Warriors level of dominance.
