Well, I guess the rest of the year will be boring.
TBH I really hope we get buried in the race for the 8th playoff spot pretty quick so we can at least see the young players.
I don't think it does us any good to make the playoffs this year. (But by how this team plays, that will take care of itself)

I understand with how the market was, why we couldn't make any moves. I say couldn't because I think everybody wanted Carroll moved and to a lesser extent, Belinelli, Forbrs...etc. but no one was going to give us a used gum wrapper for Carroll with his contract.

I'm guessing the Lakers would less like to deal with us than we do with them but once they couldn't get Derrick Rose and the Morris thing fell through for them, I might have tried to send them Patty Mills or Rudy Gay if it meant we could somehow get Kuzma from them. Sure we would have to take someone like Caldwell-Pope to make the salaries work but they would think they are being helped to win a title and we get a decent young guy like Kuzma to build with. Pope could be let go or traded later.

As much as people like Mills around here lets be honest. Where we stand right now Patty is not going to be around by the time we are good again so if it could help our future we should send him on.

So now I feel like we are in the same boat as the Pistons are every year where at this point there is nothing else to look forward to until the draft:

Tankathon has us at the 13th pick in the draft taking Dayton's Obi Toppin who can ball out. He is also considered the 2nd best PF in the draft. I would love somebody like that but I doubt he is there at 13.

I think business wise moving Mills for value would have been the right call.

But Patty is the heart of the team on and off the court and would be doing wonders for the two young guards.

To me, he would be right behind Timmy, Tony, Manu for Pops favourite and untradeable players.
