Does Luwawu deserve a full contract ?
In a recent interview with a french website he said that all the mistakes he has done his first 3 yrs led him where he is now and he now knows how to be on the floor.
He feels absolutely happy in Brooklyn and praises the way the Nets treated him.
Do you see him staying and having this bench role that he's filling perfectly or is he just a piece that will travel year to year in the NBA ??

Yes. He’s a solid rotation/bench guy that can play and guard 3 positions.

I like TLC a lot, I would definitely think Marks is considering it.

He's had some really bad games but also some good ones lately.
I feel 50/50.

i dont see him as someone consistently in a 9 to 11 man rotation. maybe as a 12th-15th guy who plays when injuries hit

Which is kind of a perfect role for him, because he has shown that he can be effective in limited minutes off the dribble and from 3.

Yes. Shouldn't cost much and he does some good things. He can shoot and take it to the hole, which a lot of our players can't do. And he plays some tough defense or at least he puts in the effort, which alot of our players don't do.

He's been impressing lately.
He looks better on D and is starting to knock down 3s at a good rate. Also less stupid mistakes.
Could TLC be the next Joe Harris or Dinwiddie?

Yes. Dude has made his case to stay here, he has been excellent from 3, and been generally efficient (posting 60% TS% for the season). He has stepped up when he has played, and plays hard on defensive end. Still has potential to be a very good 3&D player down the line.

He's earned a spot. I like his tenacity on defense. I think right now he's more reliable than Rodi. Rodi has the higher upside though and I'd prefer him to have the minutes. I'm with proky, he's great as an injury reserve and has potential to be developed further.

Re: Does Luwawu deserve a full contract ?
yes, i like his game more than musa and as a guy who can fill in for injuries, i want to see more if he can be a rotation pierce every night. he is pretty close to a 2 way player.

Good move. Probably a 2yr deal, with a team option.
I think he can also be filler on a trade in the summer or at the deadline next season.

Re: Does Luwawu deserve a full contract ?
I'm happy for TLC, and I think it is the best move for us. No one on the FA market would have seamlessly transitioned to our rotation more than him, since he's been working with the team and affiliate all season.
I also like that we're keeping open the non-traditional pipeline. Other NBA castoffs will see that if they work hard and develop in the system, that we will reward them with a call-up.

I was looking at it this way, that he is more so what Sumpert was during that solid stretch after Kyrie initially went down. But just much younger.
To your point though, I'd really be happy if he was the next "scrap heap" guy that we found, developed, and got to stick with us.

Re: Does Luwawu deserve a full contract ?
Great job. I hope it's a 4 year deal just in case he blows up like Dinwiddie. I don't see him being all star level but definitely a rotation player. Still young and expanding his game. I can see him having a break out game sometime.

You know, for all the fan angst about cutting Shumpert, and given how good he seemed to look on D, his advanced BPM (RAPTOR) defensive score was only +.08, suggesting that his real impact wasn't all that enormous. David Nwaba's score by comparison was a sensational +6.6, second in the whole league (among those with the same minimum minutes) behind only Rudy Gobert. (Interestingly, Chris Chiozzo is clocking in at a very nice +5.0!)
But getting back to TLC, his defensive score is actually a touch higher, not to mention he's not remotely as dreadful on offense as Shump was (indicated by both raw and advanced stats). Part of that is probably due to rust on Shump's part, but based on his overall decline, probably not that much. So it does look like going with TLC was the right choice, so to speak.
Just thought I'd weigh in with some context.

God I miss Nwaba. He was so active and disruptive on D, with insane length for his height. I'd definitely like to see him back the moment he sniffs readiness.

Do you happen to know if he's allowed to use the Nets' facilities, medical staff and rehab crew's man hours while not a paid member of the org?
I would imagine the first thing Marks did was to say 'we'd love to have you back ASAP, even though we have to cut you right now,' followed by offering ongoing perks & support such as the ones above. But I have no idea.
Hopefully he can come back and be part of next year's contending (knock-on-wood), Durant-led team.
