When will cliff s seat get hot?
Players don't listen to him anymore
He is rubbish in offense and doesn't learn from his mistakes, he is too stubborn
Playing fultz next to DJ
Playing fultz with mcw
Playing birch at pf
Allowing Ross to shoot 13 contested 3s per game (he doesn't have the % to warranty this volume)
Not understanding match up
Allowing AG to think he is kobe
Having fultz give up the ball at half court and wait drawing poor play after each time out
Tooooooooo many strikes for me
He has to go

I don't like running the offense through Fournier. The one game Fournier was out against the Lakers we played the greatest team game I've seen in a few years.

When he underachives with roster that is capable of doing more.

Orlando is down three forwards. Having to start a G-league talented SG or a C at forward is not Coach's fault.

It's also obvious AG has more success at the 4 but he insists on playing him at the 3.

Re: When will cliff s seat get hot?
I don't think Cliff should be fired (yet), but I do think it's disingenuous to say his hands are tied and that he's getting all he can out of this group. There was a point in the season when most of our team was injury free and our starters were playing the least minutes in the league compared to other starters, while our bench was sucking, and we were losing games because of it.
He is forced to play certain players now, but he isn't forced to play Birch as a starter, he isn't forced to decrease Bamba's minutes when playing well lately, doesn't have to player certain bench players extended minutes when another player is sitting a while.
Unfortunately, a lot of the defensive plan unraveled when Isaac went out, and Cliff is a defensive coach who doesnt have much creativity on offense even with better offensive players, so I think he's a bit lost.. so while I won't grade him an "F" with all these injuries, he's not doing anything to make it better either and I think there are at least some unexplored options he could be looking at right now and isn't doing so, so he's teetering at a C-/D+ for me.

LA also didnt have AD and were not giving much defensive effort.

I'm tired of changing coaches every 1-2 years while our top 2 players remain the same. Maybe we should try changing the on court leadership this time.

Re: When will cliff s seat get hot?
I don’t think Clifford should feel any pressure honestly. Last year proved to me Cliffords the right coach for this franchise. He’s not the one missing shots, and turning over the ball in crunch time. The roster is the issue. Cliffords done great to turn this group into a playoff contender and he should be commended.
Facts are we’re missing major contributors, Gordon has maxed out as a player, Ross is having a down year, and Fournier’s only leading us in scoring because Vuc missed time and Evans looking to get paid. So he’s hogging the ball more than usual. All those variables are leading us to another losing season. Clifford can’t turn **** to gold. We’re starting Khem Birch who can’t make a layup and Wes Iwundu who’s just an effort guy. I’d love to see Clifford coach a roster with some star talent.

Re: When will cliff s seat get hot?
I’m not a huge Clifford fan, I think he’s pretty average/mediocre tbh. But this roster is severely flawed. That’s not his fault. I don’t think changing coach’s does much for this team if The FO is still all in on the 8th seed

Re: When will cliff s seat get hot?
He's so far from perfect. But he's not a bad coach. He's just mediocre. He's average. He can get a team to the 1st round of the playoffs, but probably not more than that.
I just don't think flipping coaches every 2 seasons is healthy though. I don't think he's bad enough to can without actually addressing the real reasons we have the worst offense in the league.
We did this all during the Hennigan era. Just constantly flip coaches without addressing the actual roster. Every coach eventually runs out of ideas to propel this thing to a competitive level. Players get frustrated because they're fit simply doesn't work and it's an absolute bear to score points. When you're 30th in offense night after night, it's understandable that players eventually give up. It's an exercise in futility for 82 games. I don't know how any coach or player is supposed to thrive in this situation.

Re: When will cliff s seat get hot?
it's not like a coaching change will keep this squad from a quick first round exit anyway, assuming they make it. They might as well let him roll along until they need to do something to temporarily pacify whatever fan base is left

Re: When will cliff s seat get hot?
Cliff's seat won't get hot, it'll be the FO because of the talent or lack of talent they've provided to him to run a team. You cannot expect a coach to win in the NBA with your 2nd best shooter shooting 34% from 3. There is no wizarding way in hell that you can rely on a top 5 defense every night, a healthy roster every year and a bottom 3 offensive team to win enough to make it worth wild. This FO should've made the hard decision last year and instead they've evaluated and evaluated wrong in almost every single scenario possible.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Re: When will cliff s seat get hot?
I think if we traded coaches with the Bulls, we would be near the bottom of the Eastern Conference and the Bulls would be comfortably in the playoffs right now. That doesn't mean that Clifford is above criticism though. I don't like his offense and I'm far from pleased with how we are developing our young talent.
I don't know wtf is going on in his head when he rolls out a starting lineup that includes both Vucevic and Birch. Birch is an undersized five. He has no positional versatility.

Re: When will cliff s seat get hot?
It won't be anytime soon, this roster is just bad and poorly constructed. Especially with Isaac out. This was masked in the first several games after his injury with extra hustle, but this can't last in this league. Too many players who can't shoot, too few who can create for themselves. This is a players' league. Vogel was a joke here and now he's doing great in LA thanks to LeBron and AD.

Re: When will cliff s seat get hot?
He's showing stubbornness continuing to play Birch at the 4. I like him to a certain extent. But again obvious flaws like Birch at PF, he can go too. I don't care if we keep changing the coach every month right now. Our franchise is a bottom tier treadmill dumpster.

I like cliff. He always says what the fans are thinking.
I don't like his rotations and a few other things but I think he's a great coach.

Cliff wasn't the coach I wanted, but he isn't to blame for this record. If the team had been healthy, he deserves some criticism. But we know this roster had limited potential at best. If he can help Fultz and Isaac develop, then I'll be content. Except for AG, most of our players have played some of their best career ball under him.

Re: When will cliff s seat get hot?
Clifford wasn't the coach i wanted(Nurse/Stackhouse) and honestly still don't want him here but c'est la vie......seen him with a star(kemba) not impressed with what he did with him and what he got out of those charlotte teams.....overachieved the first year and got figured out and got worse going forward, quite similar to whats happening now......HOWEVER not all of this is on him quite a bit is on the players as well, they go hand in hand......
I hated the revolving door of coaches we had in the hennigan era and i'm not expecting him to be fired, he might resign like Skiles but i'm thinking we ride out his contract shake his hand and let him walk out the door........Man you know what? i never thought i would miss SVG this much man, he was a defensive coach with a vision of the future we pretty much were one of the first teams at the start of the 3 point revolution we're seeing now, stan saw it coming or he just thought it was the best way for us to play with the roster we had at the time.
