I know we're all disappointed he didn't make it, but we can't fault the guy for not working hard or not trying. He had confidence issues, but I really hope he manages to build a career in the league.

The guy was drafted much higher than his talent. He was a late 1st to 2nd round projections until the last minute. We could have taken Michael Porter Jr. and let him heal and received more production than Robinson provided. He was a terrible selection.

Knowing our.luck with mid 1st rd picks, he'll become a serviceable role player for another team like Al Farouq Aminu.

He also has Reggie Bullock written all over him, although Jerome received way more opportunities to contribute. Maybe he just needs less pressure to build up his confidence, I hope we haven't heard the last of him.

Jerome was a reach to many people. Jerry West's clout made everyone accept it and believe in it, but West is not perfect, no front office person is, and in hindsight and so far it was a bad pick and a poor reach.

Reggie Bullock actually got great opportunity for a late 1st, he had some injury issues early that limited how much he played though.

Jerome Robinson:
33 games, 9.7 mpg
42 games, 11.3 mpg

Bullock:
42 games, 9.2 mpg
25/39 games, 10.5 mpg, some games missed due to injury IIRC

I wish him well. I really think getting out is the best thing for him; a place with more relaxed current team expectations will (hopefully) let Rome relax and develop into an NBA player.

This guy was a solid player. Good passing/playmaking, good defense, and crafty finishes around the rim. It's not his fault he was the backup to Lou and PG though, hopefully he gets ample playing time to showcase his skill set. Really loved having him here and am honestly bummed he and Harkless are gone.

FYI--From The Athletic. Rome got his chance.

Vecenie: I was not super high on him. I felt he was over-drafted by the Clippers. I had him as a late first round grade, certainly not a lottery one. Simply put, I just wasn’t sure what else he did other than score with his jump shot.

Still, I’m slightly surprised they gave up on Robinson already just because I know how high they were on him pre-draft. But it was probably time. I know he’s played in nearly all of their games, but he just hasn’t shown enough of what they needed out of him. They gave him a shot, it just didn’t work out in Los Angeles. As a scoring-only guard on a contender, you can’t only make 34 percent of your shots overall and 28 percent from 3. He’s a better shooter than that, but it just hasn’t happened yet. At some point, he was going to fall out of getting any minutes.

He’s a great guy and a worker. He’ll fit well into Washington’s developmental culture that is all about offensive freedom and letting it fly. It’s a good reclamation project for them to take on, and I don’t think it’s impossible he develops into something for them. Hell, this is the exact kind of guy they’ve had success with in the last two years: a former draft pick that a Los Angeles team essentially gave up on (Thomas Bryant, Isaac Bonga, Moritz Wagner). But he’s not really a “Clipper DNA” guy, either. His fate was almost always going to be a sweetener in a deal such as this. But Tommy Sheppard has done such a great job at acting as the third team in these deals and picking up assets at a cost of basically zero. Honestly, fantastic work by him so far in his tenure with the Wizards.
