Re: Welcome Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III
Good trade for you guys. It gives some depth as I always thought you would be way higher with one or two more guys on the bench, even if ideally, it would be two 3pts shooters.
Something I found interesting is that hoopstats shows PHI as the best team in the league for starters efficiency difference, meaning the bench was not good enough at all :

If both can bring something, and you start playoffs with everybody healthy, you will be better than what the regular season record is showing

Warriors board says they think he fits well with Klay and Steph.

Re: Welcome Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III
Amazing trade.
Don't hold the Warriors' bad record against them--they played with a lot of young guys and rookies.
Alec Burks constantly was able to score 20+ off the bench for GSW. Wasn't enough to translate to wins, but in Philly he'll make a huge impact. An underrated skill Burks has is attacking the rim and drawing fouls. I've seen games where Burks could draw fouls 2-3 possessions in a row which is perfect for whenever Philly is having a shooting slump and/or needs to get to the bonus.
GR3 is great as well. He's athletic (won the dunk contest not too long ago,) can play defense and hit open threes. He's really young, too, so he has potential.
I'm actually happy my Warriors traded them because now they can play on a contending team this year instead of wasting the season away.

Just think last year we had the weakest bench of any team in the postseason. This year we are much deeper. Our problem now is the starters not fitting together. Well I think we have the ingredients just need someone to get the mix right.

Re: Welcome Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III
I mean, this is shocking. RoCo took 2 flights and crammed in a meeting with the coaching staff so he could play his first game last night, on the actual trade deadline day.
These 2 guys spent extra time saying goodbye to teammates and clearly were upset about leaving GSW. If they don't want to be here, Elton should've confirmed with their agents and not pulled the trigger on the trade.
No other reason why BOTH of them wouldn't be here yet. At least one of them should've been able to get here by now but since neither wants to be here they are delaying and Brand is allowing it.
Freaking pathetic.

I mean, these guys aren't machines. There might be actual human reasons for why they couldn't play in the game tonight.

Burks can handle and is an underrated playmaker. I wonder if Brett will put him on the ball for stretches to split backup PG duties with J-Rich.

What they need to be doing is getting Horford off the floor when Simmons and Embiid are both on it and replacing him with a player of the nature described above, while moving Harris to the 4.

Lmao, it's like they're waiting for Elton to drive across the country in a van and pick them up and then drive back.
Are we not sending a private jet to go get them?

Re: Welcome Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III
I know Horford sucks right now and his fit in the starting lineup is horrible. The popular idea has been to move him to the bench.
However I like a bench lineup of:
Burke
Richardson
Robinson
Scott
Pelle
(and add in Thybulle for defense at any time in the 2-3 spot and Robinson can kick over to 4 and sit scott down)
That lineup is a lob catching rim protecting athletic big surrounded by shooters at all 4 spots with 2 guys who can run the offense (Burks and Richardson) and still with 3 good to great defenders on the court (Richardson, Thybulle, Pelle). Its very resemblant of how a starting NBA lineup should look.
We cant fix the starting lineup. Sitting Horford doesnt do that. 1. Because youre replacing him with a lesser talent. And 2. He doesnt even play well when hes on the court without Joel and Ben anyway so benching him doesnt help him OR that lineup.
Id sooner fly with the 4 overpaid starters and Kork to help improve their spacing. And then have a 5 deep bench which actually looks build to play modern NBA basketball.
I feel like that bench would be fun to watch and could really spark the team on nights when the starters are all moping around doing nothing. I think it would be a fun one to watch.
