Trades, Transactions and Ideas Thread
After yesterday’s action packed deadline, it seems like a good time to start fresh with this thread. Have at it.

The teams that will have projected cap space next year are Atlanta, Charlotte, Detroit, New York, Phoenix and Miami. Miami has almost $50 million coming off the books at the end of this year.

So Gallo to the Knicks then?

Of interest is in the S&T for Gallo the Clippers did send out a FRP to Atlanta acquired from Houston in another sign and trade for Chris Paul. The pick went to the Hawks and not the Nuggest since Atlanta took on the bad salary. That pick was used to draft Kevin Huerter.

Of the mentioned teams I could see Phoenix or Miami. Sign and trade could be a possibility but Sam's leverage won't be as great since the team trading for him will likely know there aren't other suitors since Gallo will be a free agent calling the shots.

denver wanted to sign paul millsap. they had the space to sign him. they were only involved in the s&t with danilo because the clippers didn't have the space. a third team was brought in to take the clippers' trash because denver wanted to use their space for paul millsap. the first that the clippers sent out wasn't compensation for facilitating gallinari to the clippers, it was compensation for taking bad salary.

Isn't that what I said?
It seems that regardless if Gallo had been traded yesterday or he's traded in a sign and trade this summer, OKC will be taking back bad salary if they want a pick or young player.

Your random response that was coincidentally on topic is very impressive.

NY loves Gallo and vice versa so they are the second most likely in my opinion. Miami made a big mistake extending Iggy in my opinion. He is more in to the money then production at this point IMO. I would not rule out Gallo signing in OKC unless OKC decides to go full tank mode.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point.

Re: Trades, Transactions and Ideas Thread
I haven't dug into this much but I'll be writing a piece for Daily Thunder next week on this and may have some thoughts after I've dug into the cap situation.
Briefly, though, cap space is pretty barren around the league and the FA class is bad. I wouldn't rule out Gallo staying on a relatively team-friendly extension. My guess on the Heat deal is it fell apart over years since they want to keep 2021 open (Hamm and I are of one mind on this IIRC).
My guess is next year's team looks a lot like this one, perhaps with Schröder headed out. Most of the teams that really wanted centers have addressed their need (except for SAC, but they're a mess anyway, sooooo). Barring a trade of Steven to the Kings my guess is they mostly stand pat.
Although Sam's always into three-ways, so I could see some smaller pieces moving around if they give up on any young guys.

you think gallo will get extended? like he won't hit UFA? imo sam tries as hard as possible to extricate from schroder, paul, and gallinari in a value conscious way this summer and i think it can happen. paul is getting close to value neutral to the right team. maybe philadephia.
it would be a BIG mistake to try and do a kevin love to gallinari imo. huge potential for backfire.

You know one team that doesn't have a center and could really use one? Golden State. If only they had the assets and horrible contract to send back to match salary.

The teams that I think could go after Galinari the most are Phoenix, Orlando and San Antonio. By free agency or possibly sign n trade.

Gallo can play PF so definitely a good option for the Knicks.
i don't know what Miami offered and Why Presti passed but I wonder if he talked to Gallo and his agents about the possibility of a Sign & trade before he decided not to accept Miami's offer.
Still think Gallo walking is the most likely to happen and we won't get such a good return in a S&T but we will see...

Obviously I do not know what happens behind the scenes but I do suspect Presti probably did speak to Gallo's rep about multiple possibilities. I think Gallo tends to let his people handle these business related things. My other hunch is Gallo just likes to find a good situation and have some stability. I think he values those more than getting top dollar.
With that all said instead of worrying about the off-season my focus is 100% on the playoffs. I would like this team to find 1 more guy that can contribute at the level of CP3-Gallo-Adams-SGA-Schroder. Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow so I want to enjoy these upcoming playoffs.

Should have specified, I meant a young player that’s already in the league.
