As well they should. He is a proven vet with a great attitude. Dude plays D, hits threes and doesn't cause issues. As an off the bench forward on an expiring contract he should get us something. If we can't package him up with something for a decent defensive center on a fair contract, I would hope we can get an expiring and a high second rounder.

no real surprises, he has been fantastic this year.

i wasn't excited at all when we signed him away from Utah, but he's been so solid. loved what he's brought to the club

I'm thinking Boston, Milwaukee, Clippers?

Maybe as part of a 3 team trade with Houston since they're desperate to drop Gordon too.

I'd love to steal away some of Denver's young talent but I just don't see it happening.

I think teams in the East trying to beat Milwaukee will want Marvin since he matches up decent against some of their players.

Philadelphia
Boston
Miami
The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs

Philly is nothing but forwards and desperately needs point guard relief. I don't see us ever trading with Miami due to them being in the same division.

Boston makes a lot of sense though.

Celtics make zero sense. Who is the matching salary?

Smart for Marvin? I thought Celtics like Smart. They would be entering the playoffs with a rookie backup to Kemba. I don't see them doing that.

They've always had Smart for his defense more than anything. May as well move that defensive impact to the interior where they're much weaker and look for a backup PG anywhere else for much less money.

I'd like Langford but that's never going to happen.

Blazers are after Gallinari, so I assume Marvin is also on their radar. I'd love to get Skal Labissière. He's a restricted free agent but we need a backup big to develop in place of Marvin. He's 23.

Marv is being bought out and will become an UFA.

Really sad for us, because Marv has been such a wonderfully likeable guy to root for.

Really, really happy for him that he can sign with a contending team and productively contribute to them winning a ring.

Love ya Marv.

Well said. Love the player and person, hate the contract and players he’s been with most of his career here. Good locker room guy, overall good dude. Not sure he really wanted this but he has a chance to contribute on a contender now. He will have a large range of options I’d assume.

Go win a title my man. You deserve it. Hope he comes back in some way shape or form and works within the organization when hes done. He wasn't with us THAT long, but hes one of the most genuine players I've ever cheered for.

FWIW: I actually think he’s a much, much better fit for the Clippers than I do Morris.

Wish Marv had gone there.

Miles, Bake, and PJ all seem upset with this development.

I hope Marv wins a ring. But I also hope he doesn't sign with the Lakers or Mavs.

So there was no way we could engineer any reasonable trade for an expiring and a pick, even a 2nd rounder?

Jeez.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I’m sure they didn’t try.

I’m sure they preferred having to pay him out Vs obtaining an asset.

I’m sure they didn’t explore every possible opportunity.

Jeez.
