I’m over McCaw because Nurse seems to have come to his senses. It’s ok if he gets some minutes but it was a joke earlier how he was getting hugeminutes over OG and TD.

I think its more to do with....A lot of people here are scared (including me) that if the Raptors actually get fully healthy at some point (A big IF)....Nurse might actually have Mccaw over Davis in the Rotation.

I mean its understandle why he's getting minutes now....but I just dont see one thing he does extremely well over Davis to warrant him getting more minutes.

That's all im scared about.

It's time to lock this thread up. Yes, we might not view him as an NBA caliber player, but the coaching staff & front office clearly do. Let's accept the fact that they know more than us and they know what they're doing.
I will say this though, I have seen improvements in his game as of late. Slight improvements but improvements nonetheless.
He was pretty invisible tonight but I hope Nurse & co. can help him reach his full potential before the playoffs because it's a surefire bet that we'll see him in our playoff rotation.

Yes he certainly was invisible. We do often struggle with him on the court... So as great as our team is, this is still a story to watch

Phantom of the Opera McCaw was invisible? I still think he should arrive on the court with a cape on.

He's been played over Davis all season including and especially when everyone has been healthy. For what reason, I'm still not sure. Nurse must enjoy playing 4 on 5 on offense because that is all it accomplishes.

Huge 0 pt performance by Patty McCaw tonight. That is 3-peat championship pedigree right there. Without those 0 points we would've lost. No way we would've won 13 straight without him.

So much for Patty being showcased. I said since the start of the season Nurse loves this guy and considers him indispensable. I'm having nightmares about Nurse using him come playoff time

I am so glad Nurse FINALLY came to senses by playing more of Davis lately.
Two games in a row Davis had played significant minutes in the 4th. I have always believed in him.. and he proved it again why he deserves more minutes.

McCaw was non-existent tonight.

Raps could repeat as champions and some of you would rush to the computer to hammer out a “did you see McCaw’s stat line!!!??” Thread. For as silly as I find it, I admire your consistency and dedication to the cause.

Well played.

Its because Powell is hurt. His minutes will come from Powell. McCaw's minutes remain the same. TD will get some when we are behind but that hasn't happened a lot lately.

Maybe y'all can start hating on Powell too when he comes back.

Can't get much more silly than Patrick McCaw averaging 25 minutes a game (eight more minutes than Terrence Davis) on a contender and contributing negatively all season while doing it.

We're only two more months from the games actually mattering. If he's still playing when that happens (forcing the team to play 4 on 5 on offense against teams actually implementing defensive game plans), the Raptors won't be playing games that matter for very long.

Whenever I see McCaw put up 0 points in a game (common now) I just think about TDII and how amazing he is. Then I think if only McCaw's pt totals matched his usage life would be great. TBH they should just give him 10mins and whatever he produces in that 10mins should dictate how much time he gets on the floor next game. You could even factor it by two. By game 3 he probably won't leave the bench (although we have injuries).

Using a rookie in a competitive season and the playoffs is like stretching out a reliever in baseball to become a starter. I think the team immediately recognized what they had in TD2. It was obvious to us from the opening game against the Pels. In the pre-season, the Rockets commentators compared Davis to Westbrook. Hell, the Raptors offered him a guaranteed deal after his first summer league game. Nick's task this season was to get Davis acclimated, healthy and kept fresh for the playoffs.

Unless McCaw comes back from the ASB with a 40% 3-pointer, the 8-man playoff rotation will undoubtedly be Kyle, Fred, OG, Marc, Serge, Pascal, Norm and Davis. Maybe sneak some RHJ minutes in there. There will be no McCaw. I guaran-damn-tee it.
