It's very unlikely that the Knicks would finish above us next year, but if for some reason everything goes wrong, we're gonna be paying another lottery pick for 3 months of Marcus Morris :nonono:

You are assuming two things happen:
1. The Clippers have a dramatic collapse
2. The Knicks have a major improvement

The Clips gamble is that the Knicks won't make the playoffs next year and the Clips could possibly miss. If the Clips just missed the playoffs, they could end up drafting in the Top 3 (if the ball goes their way). We are protected in that event. So we are really talking about the difference between the #5 pick and the #14. Considering PG (#10) is the only player on our entire roster drafted higher than #14, I don't think they are worried.

You are getting worked up over nothing.

I think sweeteners like this pick-swap business are to help the other GM save face with the fans. Same as in the PG deal, just a bunch of argy-bargy to make it look like they got more than they actually did.

Pretty clever stuff from the best-paid FO in the NBA. Harkless is dead man walking--all NYK really got for a real asset was a garbage pick.
I wouldn't be surprised if Moe harkless ends up a Laker.

I would be more worried about him going to a team like Denver, Utah, or Houston. His D could also strengthen OKC and Memphis. He would be able to slip into the role Crowder played for the Griz.

While he may not have worked out here, it doesn't mean he couldn't fit better elsewhere. He could really help Houston in their small ball line-up.

Why do people listen to Simmons? He always comes off as an idiot whenever I hear his takes. Comes off sounding like a casual fan but he's worked in the industry

I like his podcasts until he starts talking about the Clippers.

It's a perfect fit for him to go to the Lakers. Doesn't have to even move.

If he's trying to get paid and get a long term deal, the spotlight is on the Lakers. He can do that plus a chance to win over there. They need a defensive wing. They don't have any but LeBron.

He's always been trash to me. I get every pundit does hot takes but his hottakes just always come off like someone in middle school made it. They just come off incredible dumb and not the least bit informed.

I love the idea of the Lakers taking all our rejects.

Yeah, I was over the moon we held on to both him and Mann. There was a report that Knicks passed on them just to avoid moving other players. I really hope we fought for them (especially Fi) a little harder than that implies.

Hmm... don't think he'd be my ideal choice for a Plan B if Collison chooses the Lakers. We'll see, though.

Don’t like it and rather go taller with playmaking. If we miss Turner then fine but a three guard unit when the guys already struggle on defense is asking for trouble.

No Bledsoe, A.Rivers, SGA to cover them. We know Doc loves his full swaps

At least it's not the Lakers or Rockets. The Bucks just got a little better though, as scary as that is.

Is Marvin Williams even good? Seems like he was a major bust in Charlotte. He was solid at UNC but he came out too early imo. Wasn't NBA ready and still isn't last time I saw.

He's a solid veteran combo forward who can play defense:

He's not a bad player at all, he's just always had the stigma of being drafted right before D-Will and CP3. Even as someone who's usually skeptical about the buyout market, I can't deny that this is a good signing for the Bucks.

I’m not sure there is much of a talent gap between Jackson and Collison if any

I’m not sure the clippers need that much help at guard. Perhaps they should bring a guy like Noah in for an extra big body. He is at least a smart, solid, and feisty player

I believe the Clippers have or will eventually have two roster spots open so both would be possible

We need a defensive guard that can facilitate and hit open shots. We need a mobile center that can handle switches. We have two back up centers, no true centers

I'm not looking at the Lakers. I'm looking at the bucks. I fear the minutes where Kawhi is resting and Lou has to play part in key defensive stops. Get a defensive guard as security.

Zu/trez won't be able to keep up with giannis. No one really can but an agile center gives the clippers their best chance.

Yeah, it's a good thing we have a good front office because that was a terrible suggestion.
