I disagree completely..Only way to change things is to keep highlighting whats wrong until it's fixed. It's always the same excuses being made every time bad officiating ruins games. ''Bad calls happen move on''...How about fixing things?
I can understand your point but there were thousands of bad calls highlighted before.
Did something change?
Do you think it will change now after this outburst on twitter?
You know the answer - right or wrong.
So it's just a waist of energy and probably money.
I hate then NBA players say I have lots of money to pay the fine. Cool Bro!
But if you know that a fine of 15.000 is coming maybe give that amount to some charity or families who needed that instead of paying it to NBA...
So you want players paying a fine to be thoughtful of other people and instead take that money and donate? You think players think about those things when they play the game of basketball and react emotionally to bad calls ruining a game?
How about the NBA donate those fines to charity instead of taking it to the piggy bank? NBA has a revenue of about 8 billion dollars a year i think and you want NBA players to be thoughtful of others when they pay a fine?
This is actually a deeper problem into the way people think when criticizing players for the choices they make. The whole China incident where people were rightfully bashing Lebron Harden etc...I didn't see one person criticize the owners i didn't criticize the owners either but i just found that funny. Sure they didn't say anything..But they never got a mic put in front of them and asked a question. It's a bit hypocritical to me. Why are we expecting so much out of players but nothing out of owners or the NBA in general? If you've got a malfunction in a product you're selling it needs to be highlighted and fixed.
NBA donating those fines is a great idea.
And maybe that's were it all should go.
It's really hard to establish rules which make sense. I do understand league's position that you cannot complain about the calls, because what will happen? everyone will complain.
Do you think refs do those mistakes on purpose? Of course not...
Should it be some consequences for bad mistakes for refs. Yes it should and sometimes NBA suspends them...
So I don't agree about the money side of things and where it's going. I don't appreciate players bumping their chest to say I got plenty of money... And for sure I don't like that NBA takes that money and distributes for rich people.
But the reality is this. There should be some rules set, there should be complaint procedure (which NBA has) and I don't question those.
I agree with you that it all should be avoided and if there is a fine it should go a good cause and not to pockets of NBA officials or rich owners or employees of the league.
