Can we even take a flyer on the waiver wire? Willing to take a look at Trey Burke at the PG spot.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

Amusing that it uses the Bulls font when there will be no Bulls on that court.

Terrence Davis is another rookie better than Coby.

Geez what’s up with that? We’ve won basketball games with Luke Kornet and Cristiano Felicio. We even beat Minny with them.
Go get me Simmons for Lauri, Coby and a 1st round pick swap.
That would be amazing.

I'm surprised to hear the Sixers waived him. Any idea why? I'd be all for picking him up. This year should be "try outs". Lets see who are keepers for next season.

They had to make room for the GSW trade and two guys they brought in. Would like to take a look at him if possible.

Realistically I think the FO will think we already have four point guards (Tomas, Coby, Arch and Dunn) and won't consider him. But like I said this should be "try out time" so they should pick up talent whenever they can.

It’s hard not to feel bad for Lillard and the Blazers after that screw job in Utah
Like it wasn’t bad enough they were missing some players already and lose Simon to injury and Ariza due to an ejection (deserved to be ejected, his reaction was way over the top) they get screwed by the refs most of the 2nd half but especially in the last minute as a clear as day goaltend goes uncalled
This is such a stupid rule, I don’t understand why a video ref or even on court ref couldn’t have reviewed that in 30 seconds or less.
The game would have been tied with momentum clearly favouring the Blazers. Instead they’re forced to foul and put the Jazz at the line
Blazers fighting with an undersized team of just 7 guys, giving up so many 2nd chance opportunities due to fatigue and lack of size but also playing with a group that really consisted of guys that shouldn’t see that many minutes
Lillard was again insane in the first half and really only had 1 bad quarter (the 3rd) but in his defense they blew a few calls in the 3rd that should have had him at the line
I really like Gary Trent Jr, that kid would look good in a Bulls uniform
The refs should definitely be fined for this game, a team fighting for a playoff spot, missing more than half the roster doesn’t deserve to lose like that, felt bad for the Blazers in this one

At the end of this season.
Boy Toy Boylen can then be fired.

I've always said that KAT is the most overrated player and that no team with him as the starting 5 would ever win anything. Definition of empty stats.

The Bulls are still paying for Fred Hoiberg while paying Jimbo the Clown. That has to be a whole new level of idiocy, even for them.
More John Paxson incompetence.
They fire a coach and hire a worse coach while wasting more millions down the drain all bc of Boylen hustle, passion, and THRUST resonating with Paxson’s.

You think of Miami where their team just last year was going no where with one of the highest team salaries in the league. That for us would be a major disaster. But not for Riley. He flipped a few players, moved some of their ready young players up and still had the money to grab Jimmy. Even after all that, still is trying to move the needle by acquiring Iggy and maybe a few more.
To me the issue with GarPax is they have been in their position so long without pressure or consequence that they have no real foresight anymore of what they league is or how to build a great team.
Also look at how he built/masked Josh Richardson’s value, bordering Jimmy’s value. Now look at Josh Richardson.
Not the first time he’s done it. I’m thinking back to Caron Butler; he convinced the league he’s the next Grant Hill, till he became an overpaid journeyman after leaving the Heat. Now you have Nunn and Herro, who are no doubt impressive rookies, but I’m sure he’d move them if the right player came out.
And the thing is, he’s not just BSing the value. He gets those guys to excel on teams with good chemistry and two-way systems.
Really impressive. Also — I don’t ever remember injuries thrown out as an excuse, despite Bosh retiring early on a max contract with a blood clot health condition, which they continued paying for years after his last game.
Good management, competent leadership, Miami.
vs. complacent moronic poor management and terrible leadership, cronyism, nepotism, Bulls.
The Bulls using injuries as an excuse just has to stop. This team was awful even at full strength. They started the season with the easiest schedule and still were one of the worst teams in the league. Nearly every team they played had key guys out injured or they just sat their best players and rested them because.. well, because they were playing the Bulls.

Not the biggest sample size, but Davis' shooting numbers are pretty insane (especially for a rookie guard who didn't get drafted). I mean, 49/42/90...that's damn impressive.

Not enough scouts. GarPax can only scout top 10 projected prospects.

Re: Around The NBA: 2019-20 Season #2
Going by where we’re at today, here are my bottom 5 NBA teams “looking forward," from best to worst (amongst the worst, if you follow me):
1. Wolves - I wouldn’t want to build around KAT and D’Lo, personally... but atleast they’ll put points on the board and are excited to play together. Lots of defenders on the team who can’t shoot; have some FRPs coming in and a cleaner cap. I dunno if their GM can run the show, but they did decently well clearing some bad salaries and at least created a happy newly wed couple.
2. Bulls - Thing is, we’re a FO/coach rehaul away from being an alright roster to work with, after Otto and Felicio’s salaries come off the books. IMO, imperative that changes happen asap as many RFAs and decisions are coming.
3. Kings - Have some talent, but Vlade and Ranadeve.... boy, you really can’t trust them.
4. Magic - Tread-milling. Isaac is a bright spot, but injured. Fultz and the rest.. I dunno but they seem to be building poorly since the day Howard asked out.
5. Knicks - Dolan. But hey atleast they have their picks, open cap space, and Taj.
Honorable mentions:
Cavs - Messy build, but they are 2 years removed from about 10 out of 15 years of contending. And they do have the best old school big man rotation in the NBA, even besting the Bulls and Knicks.
But after losing Lebron in FA, a 3-4 rebuild is reasonable. But I think that Drummond trade was actually a decent move. He's not a bum, and unlike the Pistons, he's gonna be doing blue-collar work for some actual shooters surrounding him (Love, Garland, Sexton). I believe they'll dump Thompson in the summer, but otherwise, not a horrible build concept. Another pick is coming their way. I think they're positioned better than the Bulls actually, because for all his mental issues, Love is still a talented player whose game will age well, despite him being a defensive liability.
Pistons - I actually think it was wise to just dump Drummond and move on. They need to rebuild. It’d be fair of them to buy Rose out (stop with the FRP nonsense), and have Griffin be a low-pressure mentor for a rebuild while his massive contract expires.
Pretty interesting how in all cases, I almost don't care about the quality of the roster as much as the competence of the FO. As such, this is why the dire Nets situation of 5 years ago transformed into quite a good situation in quite a short time - the Brooklyn Nets looked like they were going to be set-back for a decade after that Boston heist... but look at them now, ma? That Sean Marks was a smart cookie.

I doubt they’ll consider Burke with all the pgs we have, but what about Jonah Bolden? A bunch of us were high on him before the draft and we could use his size.

Funny how we have "all these PG's", but we still don't really have any PG's.
