Alright I’ll be the first to suggest something in this thread and get bashed by others

Land top 3 in lotto. Snag wiseman. Trade
Mitch and some other pieces for a young guard to pair with rj and wiseman.

Sign maybe a stop gap vet like Conley to run point

A lot depends on whether another star player decides to force his way out of his current situation. I think we should be involved if it’s a legitimate all NBA guy who still has miles left on his tires.

If not, I’d draft the best players available with our picks, release most of the veterans (maybe keep Taj around to be a leader with one or two others from inside or outside org), and look to use our space to facilitate deals where we acquire assets.

I’m not against using some draft capital to get a young player we think can be a part of the core going forward, but we really have to be judicious. Someone in the mold of Shamet...the Clippers didn’t make him available, but he’s an important part of their team in the middle of a title contending season. Someone like that is probably more gettable in the offseason.

In for the announcements of buyouts, option declinations, and ridiculous trades that massively overvalue players and Mitch off limits continuation

Possibly nothing will transpire, but this is the to do list:

- Do not re-sign anyone.
- Don't trade the pick, draft Edwards. Keep Frank IF you get Edwards. Don't draft Lamelo, don't believe the hype.
- Engage with Sacramento on Hield or s&t Bogdanovic. Try to get rid of Randle in the process.
- Call Phoenix and check on Booker or Bridges or Oubre. They're all great fits going forward.
- Have a look at how Cleveland view their Sexton+Garland pairing.
- Keep an eye on teams with a high payroll like Portland, LAC etc.
- Ask Indiana about Myles Turner's availability.
- Edited for Jerami Grant. I want him.

Mitch isn't off limits at all. Hopefully he was off limits for DLo.

I’m pretty sure we will trade for either Westbrook or Conley at the draft. Package of Randle Frank DSJ or Knox for either one with a pick coming to us for Conley and a couple picks going out for Westbrook. I can totally see either one of these happening.

1. Hire an excellent GM who’s great with scouting and player development background
2. Do as much scouting as possible. We need a winner alongside RJ.
3. Do as much scouting as possible. We need a winner alongside RJ.
4. Do as much scouting as possible. We need a winner alongside RJ.
5. Do as much scouting as possible. We need a winner alongside RJ.
6. Maneuver on draft night - I.e., Look to move up if we like a player / Move down if we don’t like a specific player for more picks
7. Develop Mitch the way Siakam did.
8. Get a great coach who can bring out the best out of players
9. Get a great coach who can bring out the best out of players
10. Surround the youth with talented vets.
In short, all I am saying is RJ-Brunson-Grimes-Quickley-Randle are the untouchables moving forward.

Edwards, Oladipo, Davis and one of Melo or Gallo (both would be curing the spell)

Dream scenario
Knicks land at pick 3 Draft Wiseman pair with Barrett

Trade Mitch + Knox + clippers 30 + Mavs 21 for Deaaron fox

Fox + Barrett + wiseman core

Now lets get realistic
Knicks land 8th in lotto. Take maledon. 1/2 the board hates him 1/2 the board talks themselves into being ok with the pick. Knicks then re sign elfrid to a 3 year deal 17 per year.

Mitch stays a bench player. Knox plays sg or sf and never gets to try and be a stretch 4.

We suck once again

Now that we have an agent in charge, I'll be looking forward to all the wild "we going to get player X" suggestions.

This isn’t wild, but let’s see how Malik Beasley finishes the season in MIN

use cap space and non-guaranteed contracts (Taj, Ellington, Bullock) to acquire more picks; being one of the few teams with cap flexibility, they should take on a bad contract while picking up another 1st

Watch us do the opposite: "Hey Wayne had a nice run to finish the year for us. Maybe he should stay with us. We want to make the playoffs. "

What do you think it would take to trade him?.
