Guys, let me ask it this way. If we were to consider what Bender is doing in the G league ( 13 games, 20.5 pts, 8.9 reb, 1.7 bk, 2.2 ast, .384 3 pt %, .794 FT %) as his current college year, and he was a 21 year old available in the draft, would he be a first round pick, or would we use any of our first round picks on him. If yes, then, IMO, we need to sign him.

As far as who we would cut, I think it comes down to Green, Semi and Edwards. Edwards is signed for 3 more years, but I'm not sure on the guarantee on those years. Green is signed for next season, but again, not sure on the guarantee. Semi is only on a team option, so would not hurt next season at all. Semi has been playing pretty good lately, but he seems replaceable by G. Williams. Personally, I think Green needs to go, if we want to sign anybody, but I sure do like his hustle.

I think he would bring more to the table than what most think. I think I remember hearing Danny was very high on him during that draft. He would be our 22 year old Brook Lopez. I mean we have all been saying we need more height, but we need more shooting. Well,... could be a lot worse for the 15th man.

Most people were high on him.. I remember Ainge's final public comment being something like "he's just so thin..", which has been a great summary of his career so far. If we'd drafted him, it would've probably been a redshirt rookie year to get him in the weight room, and if he was just showing signs of panning out now, in what would have been the last season of his rookie contract... that's a long development period for a high lotto pick.

Getting him now, though - is he a bust who's showing some faint flickers of ability after 3.5 years in the league, or is he scratching the surface of his talent now that he's nearly at the point of physical competence?

Thomas just waived by the Clippers

Let's get him. We need scoring and a veteran voice for the bench

What do you guys think of Muggsy Bogues? I think he has a lot left in the tank.

To everyone who keeps suggesting IT it's so easy and valuable to do a little analysis! Here's IT's advanced #s:
https://stats.nba.com/player/202738/

Net rating of -10! Defensive rating of 120! Compare with some other guys and league average and you'll learn that those are not good. TS of 53%. That's not very good either, especially for a guy who's only contribution is scoring. What sort of voice would he add to our bench? Seems like we have great chemistry right now.

You can look at IT's earlier years and better years and see defense has never been his strong suit, but it used to be better -- given that he's now not just tiny but also gimpy and older, I can't see how that gets better. We acquired him because his TS% was strong and gave him an awesome role to develop it further and he played the heck out of it and I enjoyed it thoroughly but what's done is done man. Sometimes one just has to how do you say

With Kimba, Edwards and Watters, I think we have our share of 6' and under point guards. No to IT

Has our resident Bender expert weighed in on the phenom's availability?

Bender does intrigue me a bit. Great 3pt shooter and a good assists man. Plus that length. And he seems to have filled out his body well. Not that Marv Williams vet they could obviously use, but he still intrigues me.

It's interesting to consider that many - myself included - were torn between Dragan and Jaylen before the draft. Danny nailed that one!

Having said that, Bender still seems like a prospect with some upside as a stretch 4; might be decent in Brad's system. Not sure who I'd cut. Maybe Green, although right now he's probably more valuable than bender. If Timelord is ready to return soon, I'd cut Vincent.

Some people are still torn.

ET would be interesting. Thompson would be perfect.
I apologize for the things I have said in the past.

Hate to say it but IT is done. We have no use for him aside from nostalgia. He is not longer a positive player.

I was on the Dragan-Wagon (love that phrase) at draft time. Watched a couple of his Euro games, and he looked damn good. (Outplayed Sabonis in one of them.) Obviously he hasn't panned out yet, but I would like to see Ainge take a flyer on him. He's stll young and he has some tools. Maybe he'll be a late-bloomer like Christian Wood. Probably not, but it doesn't seem likely that we'll be able to pick up someone who'll help in the playoffs anyway so there's not a lot to lose.

Just finally looked at the results of the poll. WTF? How is this even close? Poier and Green will both not play in the playoffs almost no matter what (like 4 or 5 players injured) but Green looks like he belongs out there every time. The French guy looks lost and clumsy. I get that we have way more good wings than bigs, but we can't play Poier, even if out bigs go down, in a playoff game we can't play him. We'd be better off playing Tacko

I think Poirier can be decent if given the chance and minutes. That’s what happens if you don’t get to play consistent minutes. You lose confidence and have doubts, and once you get in, you become eager and prone to errors. Look at wanamaker, semi and now Langford. They get consistent minutes now, and have gained confidence in their game. They looked lost and clumsy before, but now they are somewhat reliable. Well we could still use Poirier and his 6 fouls to give against bigger players.
