TRoss a TPE candidate?

Post#1 » by Bimbo_Coles » Sat Feb 8, 2020 7:17 pm

I know he’s having a bit of a down year, do you think he might be a salary dump candidate? Warriors are looking for wings they can grab with the TPE from Iguadala.

Curious how you guys are valuing him currently. And how has his defense been? Warriors have some picks they could offer if you think that is required.

Can something like that even happen? I thought the TPE was only something to be used in trades before the deadline?

No, we're all in on making the playoffs. Ross has value because he can elevate and shoot very contested shots.

They have until like July 6th to use it. So right after FA opens. They can’t combine it with other players so it would basically be picks + the TPE for a contract.

For what it’s worth, this trade would have to happen in the offseason. So we’ll just see how things go!

Can't trade guys after the deadline... but in the summer cap space is a hot commodity. And absorbing someone into a TPE/space is a lot more valuable than trading an expiring for them.

I doubt we'd have cap space anyway though so unless they're tearing this whole thing down (lol) I doubt it ever happens.

Yes, you get it. But I heard what I needed to hear regarding Ross. There will be a similar type player that gets dropped for cap space. Hell, we had to give up a first to get Iggy’s contract off the books, and he’s a very valuable player.
