Rockets Targeted DeAndre Jordan In Potential Trade

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Feb 9, 2020 7:15 pm

The Houston Rockets looked into trading for DeAndre Jordan before the deadline, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski.

"The Rockets tried to engage the Nets on DeAndre Jordan...when they were working on their four-team, 12 player deal," reported Wojnarowski.

Wojnarowski added that the Rockets had a 24 hour window following the four-team deal to add up to $12 million in salary.

The Nets reportedly were not interested in moving Jordan.

Why?? He’s pretty much a more used up version of Capela. This story doesn’t make sense.

He's about $6M cheaper per season
He's still only 31
He is a better passer
He is OK with his minutes fluctuating based on match-up

I think ATL is about to discover that the most special thin about Capela is that he was in the HOU system. Then again, Tre is pretty special as well. We will see!

Well, that's at least half the reason they want to put Capela behind him. Trae can be hidden in the right system. Harden is about to be tested as well. (Harden was -20 vs. PHX the other day.)

Might be the only center w/a worse shot than Capela? All else seems like a wash.

Of course they weren't interested in trading him. Wouldn't wanna upset the two sensitive stars there.
