Suns Waive Tyler Johnson

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Feb 10, 2020 1:25 am

The Phoenix Suns have waived Tyler Johnson, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Johnson is in the final year of a 4-year deal, and is still owed $7 million of his $19.25 million contract.

Teams are expected to be interested in signing Johnson, according to ESPN.

Wow. I do not understand this decision at all. I'm assuming it's to open a roster spot for Lecque but wouldn't it make more sense to use the veteran you're paying millions to continue pushing to be competitive than bring in a young gleaguer?

Unfortunate, I like TJ and what he brings to a team.

He was awful this season. Outside of a few flashes, he was a complete detriment to the team. It's disappointing because he seemed to fit really well after being traded to the Suns last season for the short run he got. This season, I cringed every time he was put into a game.
