I just can't accept thinking DeRozan opts in. He is playing like it is a contract year and if he keeps this level of play up for another 2 years he will be worth a solid "final" payday to a handful of teams. I also predict Hayward to be a free agent given his high level of play.

I just want to say I would make different assumptions on the three UFA's: Harrell, Harris, FVV. One or more may certainly stay, even all three. But I think each of them individually are far from locks to do so. Harrell kinda got screwed by Atlanta as I think they were the obvious choice to throw stupid money at him, but I think the Clippers are not going to go crazy with him and are more likely imo to invest in Morris.

I don't think Hayward leaves, I wouldn't be surprised if he did, but also remember OP says "Opt in and becomes a F/A in 2021" rather than resigning.

I just think guys like Hayward and Demar who have a chance to be the best free agents in this class will get more money compared to next year where they will be tier 2 or 3.

Hayword and drummand would be fools to opt out. Hay word is too often hurt. And Drummand as good as he is is antiquated in today's NBA. They should stay here they are keep the money they are owed and dare the teams that trade them if they can. I like Drum in Cleveland too. They need to start putting vets near that team. .

I don't think Harrell needs to do a Team Option on year 4. He would be 29 when the 3 yeal deal expires.

I would say top 5 notable 2020 FAs most likely to change team:

DeRozan - likely to opt out, him and TOR may have mutual interest for reunion, NYK may be interested as well
Fred VanVleet, Assume DeRozan goes back to TOR, DET may be interested to have him as Reggie Jackson replacement and offer FVV a big contract while TOR wont match
Joe Harris - May be too expensive for BKN to keep, PHX/ATL/CHA all should be interested
Danilo Gallinari - MIA now have room to offer the best contract and winning chance, yet need to further discuss on the term of the contract
Hassan Whiteside - CHA may offer him a large contract, that POR wont match, especially if Nurkic comes back healthy

Bertans is probably the best 3 shooter in this fa class, and will get paid for being such. If I'm the Hawks, I rather go for Grant. He's shown his ability to shoot it, but that defensive versatile is the needle mover between the two.

He can defend 5 positions with his length and athleticism, is a solid cutter, and was showing a solid corner three and 3 point improvement overall with OKC. Great 6th man type for a team like the Hawks. Probably worth throwing decent money at him for 3 years or so.

I think the Hawks have a lot of guys now that could/should get minutes, which isnt a bad problem to have, but Grant is just such a versatile defender that I think he slots in well in staggered units as a defensive boost at multiple positions with spot up potential. OKC was playing him as a backup center at times. I do not suggest that, but he can do it in certain matchups.
