Should the Sixers sign NBA sharp shooter Ryan Broekhoff?

Post#1 » by nurseryc » Tue Feb 11, 2020 9:04 am

Broekhoff is a lights out 3 point shooter converting at over 40% for his NBA career to date over the last 2 seasons. He is also an excellent free throw shooter. He is exactly what we need, is cheap and is now available. Discuss?

He’s a better 3 point shooter than anyone on the team other than Kork.

And entirely coincidentally I am sure just happens to be Australian.

Why did Dallas waive him then?

He fills one of biggest needs if not our biggest. Crazy not to even consider a lights out, 40% nba 3 point shooter that is available.

Take away his nationality. I think he would be awesome with Simmons serving him on platter when playing small ball with Kork. He was regarded one of the best shooters outside NBA before he was signed by Dallas.

I am Austrian. We should trade Horford for Poeltl.

Milos Teodosic was considered one of the best point guards outside the NBA before joining the Clippers. Sergio Rodriguez was supposed to be a great fit for the Sixers. Oh wait, you probably haven't followed the Sixers back then...

That was a legit question then you answered with this? If he was such a great shooter, then why was he the first player waived when they signed a player who was bought out?

Yeah why wouldn’t they waive Courtney Lee instead? I can only assume this guy’s D is turrible.

Lee is a much better defender and honestly the Mavs have plenty of shooting between Hardaway/Curry/ Kristaps/ Luka / Lee

He’d probably to nice to have for chemistry and if some of their wings get hurt.

Dallas has opposite problems the Sixers have. Too much shooting. And no defense. They sign mkg who we know can’t shoot but plays D.

Ultimately at the end of the day. You need balance in the nba. Some D. Lots of offense works

Some offense. Lots of D works.

Sixers is lots of D. Very little offense. That doesn’t work.

We have an open 2 way spot at the moment, correct? Maybe there, though I would be inclined to have a PG in that spot for emergency situations.
