Uh James Jones can you get off your ass and do something like sign Broekhoff immediately?! Especially with that roster spot which opened up with waiving Tyler Johnson.

Lord knows we can use someone who shoots 40% from 3.

He was barely playing on the Mavs but on the Suns he’d easily be in the rotation. If more of our players break down with injuries (which is extremely likely) in the coming weeks, then maybe even started minutes.

Adding a 40% 3pt shooter to a team that ranks 6th worst in the entire league in 3pt shooting % is definitely something I care more about.

You forgot the immediate years after Amare left?

If only they had rebuild properly then...

No, but that was a joke too, adding the guys we did and then drafting guys like Morris and Marshall. It's not often you have a championship window. I have said before I would have given Amare the contract over signing those other guys. We would have contended at least for 2 more years before he started to regress, but at least by then maybe we figure something out, or just deal Nash and have the bad Amare contract for a couple years. His FG% was actually still good until he retired in 2016...hovered around a TS% of 60%. He might have outlasted Nash, but then we bring Dragic back at the same time he replaces Nash. Would have been nice had we never made the Marion for Shaq trade too.

The problem wasn't that he didn't sign Amare -meaning Sarver. The problem is he went out and spent a lot of money on long term deals for the wrong playuers: Warrick, Childress, trading LB for Hedo, even Frye at the time. Instead of signing those guys to one year deals - he gave them multiple years!

So yes, if you are spending that much money, just keep Amare with a few minimum guys like Brian Cook (a poor mans Channing Frye) and the like and call it good.

As for this year - Jones has a roster spot - hope he fills out buy the time they return from the ASB.

I like the idea of a guy that can shoot the ball but the Suns need some size . But yes, this should be the market Jones is looking at. Released players that might you can take a flier on.

We used those players wrong. Starting Hedo was dumb, just run Warrick as the Amare-lite, and let Nash run the same screen and rolls, and feed Warrick. Then on defense run more of a zone with Warrick at the top, he did better defense there. Bring Hedo off the bench, and let him run the second unit when Nash sat, he would have produced more. Childress was poorly used, after hurting his thumb, his three point shot was non existent, yet our dumb coach had him standing on the three point line all the time. When Childress went rogue and snuck behind the defense, he always had easy baskets. Amare was an idiot, doing his nationwide tour of basically getting out of town.

The Marshall pick was bad. We could have traded with Dallas, and got three decent players.

Players take 48 hours to clear waivers and since the suns (and most every team) are over the cap they can't put in a claim.

Once cleared teams over the cap can sign guys to minimum salary deals.

Players will start clearing waivers in the next couple days at that point we should see what the suns plan on doing with their open spot.

If JJ doesn't pick up a bigman in the next coupe days, he should be fired on the spot... Its not rocket science.

Unless they expect Saric and Baynes back right after the break then maybe a guard instead. I don't really get why Owens isn't getting a little run right now since he's on a 2way.

It is sad that he hasn't given another big a two way contract and ler Jarred go. While I like Jarred, there is no need to waste the spot on a guard under 6', when we have 4 pgs on the roster already. Honestly, this should have been done weeks ago.

Playoffs pretty much out of the picture. Moving into the 2nd pathetic decade of this.

Where's the **** pride with this organization? Where's the smarts and balls?

They couldn't have known that we would have so many injuries. We started out great, then Ayton goes full moron adding a 25 game penalty, and then every big goes down.

Why? We have one more game before the all star break and likely get Baynes and Saric back afterwards, and Kaminsky March 1st. I'd keep the roster spot open if they don't pick up Bender and see who else may get waived during the all star break. No need to rush it when we have one game in the next couple of weeks.

They have to get Bolden. Monty's previous relationship with him in Philly, he's only 24 and he's a 6'9" athlete with some shot-blocking skills and ok range.

No to Waiters, no to Broekhoff, we need a big so my eyes don't bleed anymore after Diallo hit double his quota last night

Let's add a scrub who doesnt play on the mavericks, and put him on the bench behind our other scrubs!

Its all about the complete inaction on JJ's part and lackadaisical attitude towards the team. These injuries are nothing new, we've had open roster spots for most of the season and he has done absolutely nothing to try to help the team out. The probability that all 4 bigmen will come back fully healthy for the rest of the season is pretty slim. I just want to see him at least try to do something. If the house is on fire at least exhaust the fire extinguisher before you sit down and watch it burn down. When Ayton was suspended we could have brought someone in for 20 games, then there was the second two-way slot (we didnt need more PGs), then the injury exception, now we have an actual roster spot open. At least pretend you care about this team and do something with it...

Mavs have a pretty deep backcourt while the Suns do not....so yeah even if he wasn’t getting minutes there, he would easily play here.

I generally agree in the notion "Don't do something just to do something if it doesn't improve the team or make sense" and who knows what opportunities were there? At this point I see no need to rush using that roster spot even though I thought they would have had a plan before releasing Tyler. Someone else may get waived in a week that would have been a better fit but we would have already signed someone for the rest of the year.
