Yup. Imagine if we skipped the basketball genius phase and had drafted SGA.

Have a feeling Robert will be plagued by injuries for the remainder of his rather short (as a result) NBA career.

Embiid is meant to be a very good defensive big not just an offensive 'I make things happen' kind of guy.

Kemba Tatum Embiid would be a perfect trio. Add one or Jaylen and Gordon and you have yourself a true contender of a team (in my humble opinion)

After the season deal.

To Chicago:
Langford, Poirier, Semi, Green, Bucks first
for
Markanen and Felicio

Chicago move Lauri for a lotto pick and a first. Get out of Felicios Contract as well.

Boston
Adds Lauri to the roster, gets something for Semi and Green and shed a pick. Felicio gives them an expiring contract to use in a deal in the season.

Hayward decision is alot less worrisome moving forward as Lauri would be a brilliant PF to pair with the Jays and Kemba.

Kemba/Wannamaker/Edwards
Brown/Smart
Tatum/
Lauri/Grant/Felicio
Theis/Timelord

2 first round picks and a second round pick and if Hayward is gone, the full MLE

If Hayward opts in:

Hayward and Boston 1st to Minny for James Johnson and the top Minny pick.

Minny upgrades tremendously with a vet playmaker on the wings who always plays great there. Have a three man tandem of Russell/KAT/Hayward and the picks/MLE. should make playoffs out west with that team.

Boston gets a top 5 pick for hayward, and expiring 12 mill deal in Johnson, a TPE (20 or so million) and the ability to use the Full MLE
Allows team to make further deals in the year by taking on players for nothing by using the TPE

So rather than having a shot at another young player to pair with 24-year olds Towns and Russell, the Wolves opt to go with a guy who's going to be 30 in a couple of weeks and still isn't a consistently good player? The Wolves are no where near contending, why would they do that?

to push for playoffs, keep youngsters happy, keep fans happy, try to look more attractive to free agents in the near future by building a winning culture.

Currently, a > 50% chance their pick is outside the top 5 in a painfully weak draft.

IMO, the idea is to trade quantity for quality, not the other way around. Trade makes us worse on the floor while not improving our cap situation. I don't think there is a need at all.

yeah, currently is outside of the top 5, but will it remain that way, who knows...but what I do know is that JJ brings some bench toughness and is an expiring deal. trade also gives the team a 17mill ish TPE, some of which can be used in another deal, or just renounced which greatly improves cap situation.

Right now pick is at 5, but based on the odds of the lottery, it will either be a 1-4 or a 6,7 pick.

that puts pick in the Wiseman, Halliburton, Hayes range. And I would only make the deal if Wiseman was available.

Right on, but we definitely don't agree on Hayward's value. Try to imagine that I were posting these same scenarios about Jaylen, and that's about the same reaction I am having to this, haha.

Maybe the Wolves will toss in KAT too if the Celtics add in a max salary S+T with Semi Ojeleye.
